You pay to get the visit (ads, SEO, social media) and you lose it if the page is slow to open on a phone. It's a leak that shows up in no sales report: the visitor simply leaves. Seraphinite Accelerator is a caching and content optimization plugin designed to close that leak on both mobile and desktop.
Seraphinite Accelerator in a shop, step by step
Picture a shop with a catalog, product pages and a cart. This is what happens from the moment you activate it:
- You leave it in automatic mode. It works right after activation, and only around 20% of sites end up needing adjustments.
- Cached pages are generated. Its file cache engine stores data separately by device and environment, and supports GZip, Deflate, Compress and Brotli encodings.
- The content gets lighter. It minifies JavaScript, CSS and HTML, and lazy loads images, video, frames and fonts, so visitors don't download what they can't see yet.
- Scripts stop slowing the page down. It can defer them, lazy load them or inline them, both for JavaScript and for styles.
- The cart and user areas. It includes caching for pages that depend on the user, such as the cart or online courses.
- If something breaks, you exclude it. There are exclusions, per-device-type settings, and refresh and cleanup timeouts to fine-tune whatever doesn't fit.
A practical tip: after activating it, go through the whole purchase process yourself (cart, checkout, customer account). If something fails, check which script should be excluded from optimization.

Does it get along with other optimization plugins?
It supports the use of many third-party optimization plugins. Even so, avoid having two plugins do the same task at once, for example minifying the same CSS.
Does it guarantee a specific score in speed tests?
No. The result depends on how your site is built. Measure before and after with your own pages.
CDN, changing content and what a cache can't fix
If you publish often, lazy revalidation keeps pages fast while the content is being updated. If you use several CDNs, you can distribute the load among them to gain speed and cut costs. Optimization can also be done remotely on cloud servers.
One clear limit: a caching plugin reduces the server's workload and the page weight, but it doesn't replace slow hosting or make a theme loaded with effects or huge images light. If that's the underlying problem, start there.
