About SimonTaxi – Taxi Booking WordPress Theme
A car in the workshop that still shows up in search
In a taxi or chauffeur-hire business, money leaks through fleet details: a car in for servicing that still appears available, a Christmas fare nobody raised, a customer phoning to ask the price of a trip the website could work out on its own. SimonTaxi is a WordPress theme built for that daily routine: it publishes your fleet and manages bookings from the same site.
A booking website is not worth much for looking good, but for not promising what the fleet cannot deliver. That is why a large part of the theme revolves around controlling what you offer, where and at what price.
How to set up an A-to-B transfer with SimonTaxi
This is the typical walkthrough, from setup to the moment the customer books.
1. You add your fleet
Each vehicle is loaded with its name, type (brand or category), features, location and prices. Types and features are managed in separate modules, so customers can compare cars in an orderly way. You can also add FAQs about the vehicles so you do not answer the same questions by phone.
2. You define where you work and how you charge
With the locations module you set the areas between which you offer point-to-point service. If you sell by the hour, you create packages (for example, one of 10 hours and another of 20) and the customer picks the one that suits them.
3. You set the prices
- Distance-band pricing, for example one amount for 1 to 5 km and another for 5 to 10 km.
- A special fare for a specific day, raising or lowering the price by a fixed value or a percentage.
- A minimum fare per vehicle.
- Discount coupons with a value or percentage and a validity period.
4. You pull out what cannot go out
The blocked-dates module takes a vehicle off the listing for a period: breakdown, servicing or any other reason. If you have a large fleet, this is the feature that stops you accepting bookings you later have to cancel.
5. The customer books and pays
PayPal is built in. The other gateways and several features a transport business usually expects are separate paid add-ons: Stripe, Razorpay, Paystack, Paytm, Instamojo, Square, 2Checkout, Braintree, PayTabs, Google Maps, round trip, surcharges, fixed price, fare quotation, discounts, calendar and driver registration. Do not assume the map or round-trip booking come with the base theme.
6. Alerts and follow-up
Emails for confirmed or cancelled bookings, payment status, new user registration or password reset are editable templates, and there are also SMS templates for completed and cancelled bookings. Check in the demo how SMS messages are sent before building your operations around them. In addition, a widget lets visitors request a callback, and registered users can send support requests. Everything is stored so you can handle it manually from the bookings module.
Taxis, limos and rentals: which businesses get the most out of SimonTaxi
It is aimed at taxi companies, radio taxis, minicabs, limousines, rental car agencies, coaches, transport services in general and travel agencies. If you sell by trip or by hour and have several vehicles with different fares, it fits well. If all you need is a contact page with a phone number, it is more tool than you will use.
Frequently asked questions before choosing SimonTaxi
Is it only for taxis?
No: it also works for vehicle rental and chauffeur services, because it books by trip or by hour package.
Can I change the text of the emails?
Yes, the email templates are editable and there is an option to restore the default ones if you delete any.
Does it include an app for drivers?
The theme focuses on the booking website; driver registration is a separate paid add-on. If you need a mobile app, check in the demo first what it offers.
Does it include invoicing?
