About Skyward – Drone Aerial Videography WordPress Theme

Someone hiring a drone operator isn't buying the drone, they're buying the shot their own camera can't reach

You have spectacular aerial footage, and you show it on a website that looks like any wedding photographer's. The client arrives, can't tell what makes you different and goes to ask someone else for a quote. Skyward is a WordPress theme built for aerial photography and videography, with a modern design to describe your services and showcase your projects.

The people who install this are usually videographers or event agencies offering camera operators. And they have a problem that isn't obvious: their work is all movement and height, and a website with static images and generic grids flattens it. You need to show the video, not just talk about it.

Nine home pages to choose how you present yourself

Skyward includes 9 different home pages. It also comes with:

  • Varied blog layouts: useful if you want to publish making-of pieces, how a shot was planned or the results of a job.
  • Portfolio: to show your projects.
  • Elementor support: you can tweak pages with that page builder.
  • Custom widgets and shortcodes: included with the theme.
  • Customizer and options panel: to change the look without touching code.

The design is responsive, which is key if your clients look at it on their phones. It is also compatible with WooCommerce and WPML, so you could sell something or publish the site in several languages, although neither comes set up out of the box: you'll need to install the corresponding plugins.

What it isn't: a booking system or a pilot management tool. It is a presentation theme, so if you want clients to request a date and a quote online, you'll need to add a forms or booking plugin separately. Don't expect it to play a heavy video on its own without care either: it's best to host videos on an external platform and check in the demo how they display on each home page.

Questions from buyers who are still unsure

Is it for a company or only for a freelancer?

It works for companies: it is aimed at corporate companies and private organizations.

Can I make it look exactly like the demo?

Yes, it includes one-click demo installation, which gives you the site as it appears in the live preview.

Do I need Elementor?

It supports Elementor, but the theme comes with its own customizer and options panel. Check in the demo which parts you want to edit and with which tool.

Is it good for anything other than drones?

Yes: it works for photo shoots and video recording, with a clear focus on aerial work.

Where you can tell the theme was made for aerial work

The advantage of a themed theme is that it already comes with the structure you need: services, projects and blog. The drawback is that if your business is very different, you'll have to reorganize sections. If you only want a shop or a content site without a portfolio, another theme will fit better.

The one-click demo gets you started, but review the nine home pages

Import the demo, pick which of the 9 home pages looks most like your business and discard the rest instead of leaving them published. Replace the sample videos and photos with your own, review the service texts and check every page on mobile before going live. If you're adding a shop or several languages, install the necessary plugins first and see how the design looks with them active.
