If your small hotel doesn't want to look like just another listing on a booking portal

On a booking portal your hotel appears in a list, in the same format as a hundred other places to stay. Your own website is the only place where you decide how the property looks, and almost nobody makes use of it: they end up with generic business templates that convey no beach, no pool, no rest. Sun Resort is a design made for hotels and resorts, and it fits if you want to present your property with style and have a website of your own that you can edit yourself.

It doesn't fit if you are looking for a complete hotel management system. It is a presentation theme: for real-time room availability and payment for stays you will need a separate booking system, and you should check in the demo where you would place its button or form.

Sun Resort as a starting point, not a blank canvas

Sun Resort is one of the designs (presets) of CSS Igniter's hotel theme, alongside Zermatt and Santorini Resort. You can import the demo with one click, so you start with the site already built and replace texts, photos and logo with your own instead of building from scratch.

Header, footer and colors that carry your brand identity

From the WordPress Customizer you adjust, with a live preview, the elements that weigh most in a first impression:

• Header: color scheme, layout, typography and logo.
• Footer: colors, layout, fonts and the links or details you want to show.
• Your own palette: you change the colors globally or fine-tune specific areas, such as the top bar, the header or the footer.
• Google Fonts: you pick the font pair from dozens available and fine-tune the properties of key sections.

For a hotel this matters: the color and typeface of the website should resemble those of your signage and your reception.

WordPress blocks or Elementor: pick one and don't mix without a reason

The theme works with the WordPress block editor and the GutenBee block collection, and also with Elementor if you prefer drag and drop. It is optional: you can use your favorite builder, and Beaver Builder, Divi and Elementor are the recommended ones.

With Global Sections you design a block once (with the block editor or with Elementor) and reuse it across several pages. It is useful for a contact strip, a seasonal notice or a call to book that you want to change in a single place.

WooCommerce if you sell more than rooms

The theme is compatible with WooCommerce, so you can add a shop with products, inventory and secure payment. It makes sense if you offer items of the hotel's own. Mind the expectation: a shop is not a booking engine, and if you want guests to book rooms from your website, that is a separate piece.

Do I need Elementor?

No. You can build pages with the WordPress blocks and GutenBee. Elementor is an alternative if you find it more comfortable.

Does it include a booking system?

It is a design theme for showcasing the hotel. If you need availability and payment for rooms, plan for an external booking system and check in the demo how it would be integrated.

What do I need to use it?

A domain, hosting and WordPress installed. Then you import the demo if you want to start from it.

Will it work with my plugins?

Popular plugins from reliable developers usually work without problems, but it is impossible to test the theme with every plugin out there. If you depend on a specific one, try it on a test installation before going live.
