About Team Grid
A team page that goes stale as soon as someone leaves
The team page is usually built once, with photos pasted into columns, and then left alone. When someone joins or leaves, nobody remembers to touch it, or the change has to be requested from whoever built it. You end up showing a person who no longer works with you, or missing the one who just arrived.
At law firms, clinics, consultancies or agencies, the team is what visitors look at before getting in touch. That makes staff turnover a website problem, not just an HR one. You can create as many teams as you need, and there is no limit on members.
Team Grid offers 17 layouts and filters for large teams
When the team grows, a plain grid becomes unmanageable. That is why it comes with:
- 17 team layouts and more than 100 predefined styles, so not every site looks the same.
- Filters with more than 20 styles. You can choose which ones to show, sort them or hide them all.
- Square, vertical or horizontal photos, depending on what you have.
- A responsive design for mobile and a live preview in the admin area, so you see the result before publishing.
Individual profiles: popup, side panel or their own page
When someone clicks on a person, their profile can open in five ways: popup window, expanded inline on the same page, a panel sliding in from the left, a panel sliding in from the right, or a permanent link to the member's own page.
Each profile supports social networks (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and others), extra fields such as email, phone or address, and skills with time and percentage. Skills are useful for technical or creative profiles, but at a law firm or clinic you probably won't use them. You can hide the percentage symbol and use the value 0%.
If you use a separate page for each member, there is an option to stop Google from indexing those pages. Photos carry an alt attribute.
Team Grid or a hand-built team page?
It pays off if you have more than a handful of people, if the team changes often, or if you want to filter by department or specialty. With five people who never move, a block of columns may be enough. Team Grid is a showcase of people: if you are looking for an org chart with hierarchy lines, check in the demo whether any of the layouts works for you.
Can I have several teams on the same site?
Yes, the number of teams and members is unlimited.
Can I show each person's phone and email?
Yes, through each member's additional fields (email, phone, address). You decide which data to fill in, since it gets published.
Does it look good on mobile?
It is fully responsive. Still, check in the preview how the layout you choose behaves with your photos.
