About TrekOn – Extreme Sports and Adventure Theme

An adventure website wins by answering «can I handle this?»

Someone looking for a trekking trip or a climbing course does not decide by the photo of the summit: they decide by whether they feel up to it. Adventure websites often fail right there, with spectacular landscapes and no sign of the required level, the departure dates or what to bring. TrekOn is a theme designed for hiking, trekking, mountaineering, mountain biking, running, climbing, skiing, snowboarding, winter sports and adventure tours, and it works best when you use it to settle that doubt, not just to impress.

To get started it offers one-click demo import and 6 predesigned homepages, plus inner pages that are already built. It works with Elementor and is also listed as compatible with WPBakery Page Builder, so you can replace the sample texts and photos with your real offer without starting from scratch.

TrekOn puts the schedule, the guides and the plans into ready-made blocks

The most useful part for an activities business is its collection of shortcodes. These are the ones that fit best:

  • Events List: a list of departures or events, so visitors can see what is on and when.
  • Team List: introduces guides and instructors, which reassures anyone who has never done the activity.
  • Pricing Table and Comparison Pricing Table: let you compare options, for example a beginner outing against an advanced one.
  • Testimonials List, Counter and Countdown: participant reviews, your own figures and a countdown to a departure date or an event.
  • Google Map and weather widget: to show the meeting point or the area of the activity.

Photos of routes and expeditions are organised with the portfolio layouts (gallery, masonry, justified gallery and slider), with standard pagination, a «load more» button or infinite scroll. It also includes the Slider Revolution plugin for full-screen image or video homepages.

Shop, languages and header: what TrekOn covers around the edges

If you sell gear as well as activities, the theme supports WooCommerce with shop layouts, a dropdown cart in the header and another in the side area. To serve visitors from several countries it is compatible with WPML and is translation ready. Contact forms rely on Contact Form 7, which has its own widget.

In the header you can choose different behaviours, use a different logo for mobile, for the light and dark versions and for the sticky header, and build a mega menu with a side area. Typography is highly adjustable (over a thousand Google Fonts, with separate settings for small screens) and a child theme is included, handy if you plan to tweak code without losing changes.

Is TrekOn what you need if your business lives on online bookings?

Here it pays to slow down: TrekOn does not include a booking system or a calendar of available places. The Events List shows events, but it does not take payments or limit capacity. If you want customers to book and pay for a trip, you will need to add another solution, for example selling the place as a product with WooCommerce, which is a separate plugin. And check in the demo how the events list looks on mobile, because that is where many people look up a trip.

Do I need Elementor to use it?

It is compatible with Elementor and with WPBakery Page Builder. Check in the demo which parts are built with each one before deciding which to work with.

Does it work for a mountain or sports gear shop?

Yes, it supports WooCommerce, with shop layouts, a product list shortcode and a dropdown cart. You need to install WooCommerce separately.

Can I have the website in several languages?

It is compatible with WPML, a translation plugin that is installed separately.

Does it come with a contact form?

It works with Contact Form 7 and has a widget to place it. You create the form yourself with that plugin.
