About uDesign Responsive WordPress Theme
For people who build sites in very different sectors without touching code
Choosing a theme usually ends in one of two extremes: a pretty but rigid one, or a flexible one that forces you to fight with CSS. uDesign Responsive WordPress Theme bets on flexibility without the CSS: it is a multipurpose theme with its own builders for almost every area of the site.
Its trap is the opposite one. With so much freedom, the question stops being whether it can be done and becomes what you decide first. You get the most out of it if you already know what your visitor is looking for when they arrive.
- It suits you if you are a freelancer or an agency with clients in different fields (health, photography, construction, cleaning) and want a single base theme.
- It suits you if you are building a WooCommerce store and want to decide how the shop, the cart and the checkout look.
- It does not suit you if you only need a page with three texts: that many options is weight you will not use.
- It does not suit you if you expect the theme to handle business functions such as bookings, memberships or courses: for that you will need specific plugins.
The uDesign builders: from the header to the checkout
The theme includes more than ten template builders to edit the entire site without writing code. What matters is what each one controls:
- Header: top or side position, sticky or transparent header, and eight widgets, including logo, language switcher and currency switcher.
- Footer: fixed footer and 48 pre-built layouts in the templates library.
- Block: reusable blocks such as the shop banner, a megamenu or a sidebar area.
- Single and Archive: design of individual posts and of archives for custom post types, with a load more button, infinite scrolling and filters by taxonomy.
- Popup: popups with a visual interface, where you adjust width, position and overlay style.
A store with uDesign: cart and checkout your way, always on top of WooCommerce
The theme is compatible with WooCommerce and includes specific builders for each shopping screen. The single product builder offers 18 widgets (featured image, add to cart, product navigation). The shop builder supports load more by button, infinite scrolling and filters. The cart builder provides 5 widgets, such as the table and the totals, and the checkout builder 4, such as billing and the order review.
Be clear about the limit: those builders only make sense with WooCommerce installed, and things like payment gateways, shipping or taxes depend on WooCommerce or other plugins, not on the theme.
Typography and layout: settings per page, not just global ones
You can use Google Fonts, standard fonts or upload your own fonts without limit. The options include more than 2000 fonts, among them icon fonts such as Font Awesome and Fontello. Size, family, weight, line height, spacing and color are controlled for H1 to H6, the body, the footer or the sidebar.
The layout supports boxed, fluid or full-width mode, which you can change per page or post.
On the technical side, the main content block comes before the sidebar in the code, whatever its visual position. There are two mobile menus to choose from.
Full demos: pick one and stick with it
You can import a complete demo site and work from there. There are demos for health (coach, gym, yoga), photography, medical, cleaning and construction, and more are announced.
Choose the one closest to your sector and modify it, instead of mixing pieces from several: that way the site stays coherent.
Questions before choosing uDesign
Do I need to know how to code?
No. The builders are visual, and the font, color and layout options are handled from the theme panel.
Is it suitable for an online store?
Yes, it is compatible with WooCommerce and has builders for the shop, product, cart and checkout. For payments and shipping you need the WooCommerce configuration.
Can I use my own fonts?
Yes, you can upload your own fonts without limit and apply them across the whole site or on just one page.
