About VisualMag Pro Theme

Few readers see your homepage; most arrive through an article

Building a news site or a magazine tends to end in one of two extremes: a rigid theme where every homepage change means touching code, or a hand-built layout nobody dares to adjust when the story of the day needs to move up. Meanwhile, what actually fills your week is publishing.

Keep something in mind: for a news outlet, a good share of visits usually comes from search engines or social networks straight to a story, not to the home page. That is why VisualMag Pro fits best if you treat the article template as seriously as the homepage, and not only the latter.

VisualMag Pro is edited with the Site Editor, no code

It is a block theme designed for magazines and news sites. Your news site or magazine is built in the WordPress Site Editor by dragging blocks, without writing code. That also means you will not tweak it from the classic Customizer: all the design lives in the block editor.

It comes with more than 17 pre-designed block patterns. The idea is that you do not start from a blank page: you pick patterns, combine them and build your own layouts. If you have a small team, it is a way to reorganize the home page when editorial priorities change without depending on a developer.

Settings built for daily publishing

  • Single post options: controls specific to each post page, which is where most readers land.
  • Over 1000 Google Fonts: room to give your header and headlines a typeface of their own.
  • Theme options panel: with export and import of the settings, handy for moving them from a test environment to the live site.
  • Custom code editor: to add your own tweaks.
  • One-click demo import: leaves the site built like the example so you only have to replace the content.
  • Responsive design: built so the site looks good on mobile.

A practical tip: after importing the demo, test your homepage with your own photos and long headlines. That, not the sample content, is where you see whether the design holds up.

SEO, newsletter and advertising live elsewhere

VisualMag Pro takes care of design and layout. The rest of a digital newsroom is up to you:

  • What the theme already handles: homepage and templates with the Site Editor, block patterns, post options, typography, custom code and demo import.
  • With another plugin: search engine optimization, subscription forms or newsletter, caching and ad banner management.
  • By hand or with a professional: your editorial line, categories, image quality and any custom feature that goes beyond the code you can add in its editor.

Also, if you come from a classic theme with widgets and the Customizer, you will need a little while to get used to editing with blocks.

Frequently asked questions about VisualMag Pro

Do I need to know how to code?

Can I start with a site that is already built?

Can I move my settings to another site?

Is it useful for anything other than a magazine?

It is designed for news sites and magazines. For another kind of project, check in the demo whether its structure suits you before deciding.
