About VisualModo – Food WordPress Theme
People looking for your place are already hungry and short on patience
Restaurant and bakery websites usually fail for the same reason: gorgeous photos, but the menu is a PDF that is unreadable on a phone, the opening hours are buried and the address is three clicks away. Food is a theme designed for food businesses (restaurant, recipes and drinks) and it starts from a simple idea: whoever opens your site almost always already wants to eat or order, and looks for hours, location and menu before admiring the design. If the theme does not put those in plain sight, everything else is wasted.
It is responsive: it adapts to any screen without hiding elements, which matters when the visit happens standing on the street.
Building a pizzeria website with Food, step by step
Imagine you are opening a pizzeria and want the site ready before launch day. This is how the work unfolds and what you find at each step:
- Choosing what to edit with. Food integrates with Elementor, Block Editor and WPBakery. Pick one and stick with it; mixing builders on the same site only complicates maintenance.
- Building the homepage. Slider Revolution allows sliders with transitions and animations, and there are interactive banners, animated text and dual buttons. Use them with judgment: a homepage loaded with effects competes with what the customer came to find.
- Setting up the menu. Price boxes, info lists, tables and advanced tabs let you separate starters, pizzas and desserts. Note that these are layout elements, not a menu manager. Changing a price means editing that block.
- Showing how to get there. The Google Maps element places the map and Contact Form 7 handles forms with customizable emails. It works for enquiries and orders by message, but it is not a booking system with tables and time slots; if you need one, you will have to add it with another plugin.
- Selling takeaway. If yours is a bakery or a sweet shop, WooCommerce is integrated for the store. Orders with pickup times or delivery zones usually need separate extensions.
- Serving tourists. The theme is compatible with WPML for a multilingual site, but translating the menu and texts is your job.
Common questions before settling on Food
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Editing is drag and drop with blocks and widgets, and the Customizer lets you adjust the look from a visual panel. The photos and texts, of course, are up to you.
Is it only for restaurants?
It is designed for restaurants, recipes and drinks. For a business in another sector there are better starting points.
Can I use it without Elementor?
Yes, it also works with Block Editor and WPBakery. Check in the demo which of the three is closest to how you like to work.
Does it include a booking system?
It is not a feature the theme highlights. For bookings with tables and time slots, count on a dedicated plugin; in the meantime, the contact form covers simple enquiries.
More than 150 elements so you don't fill Food with loose plugins
The theme includes a broad library of elements that have very specific uses in a food business:
- Countdown: for promotions, seasonal menus or the grand opening.
- Timeline: to tell the story of the place or the family recipe.
- Team element: to introduce the kitchen and floor staff.
- Flip box, hotspot and interactive banners: to highlight signature dishes without overloading the page.
- Google Fonts manager: to give the menu its own typography.
Food also comes with popular plugins built in, such as Slider Revolution, Ultimate Addons and Contact Form 7, so you can build the site without leaving what it already includes. What it does not do is spare you the groundwork: photographing the dishes, writing the menu and keeping hours and prices up to date.
