Hotels and resorts that want their own website, not a booking engine
People who land on your website have usually seen your property on a booking portal first, with the same photos and a price close to the hotel next door. Your website has to give them what the portal doesn't: your story, your rooms well presented and a clear way to get in touch. VisualModo Hotel WordPress Theme is designed for that role as the showcase of a hotel or a resort.
It's worth being clear before you choose it:
- It suits you if you want to build the pages yourself with drag and drop, without touching code, and have galleries, a map, forms and a blog in a single theme.
- It doesn't suit you if you're looking for an availability calendar with payment per night. The theme mentions WooCommerce for selling, but a store is not a booking engine; for that you will need a dedicated booking plugin.
- It doesn't suit you either if you want a closed, ready-made design with nothing to decide: here you build the pages with a page builder.
Elementor, WPBakery or the block editor: you choose how to build it
The theme works with the most widely used builders: Elementor, WPBakery and the WordPress block editor. If you already work with one of them, you don't have to learn another. You drag blocks and widgets, upload your photos and texts, and publish.
It includes a Customizer to adjust the look of the site from a panel and a responsive design for mobile, which matters a lot when guests browse your website from their phone, often while comparing other properties.
Rates, map and countdown: the elements a hotel can actually use
Among the more than 150 elements included, several fit an accommodation business:
- Price Box.
- Flip Box, Interactive Banner and Info Box.
- Google Maps to create and publish maps.
- Count Down Timer.
- Timeline, Team and Stats Counter.
- Advanced Carousel and Slider Revolution, the latter with customizable transitions, effects and animations.
With so many animation options, it's tempting to fill the home page with effects. In a hotel, what decides the booking is the photos and finding rooms, location and contact quickly, so use them sparingly.
Forms, store and multiple languages depend on specific plugins
Contact forms are handled with Contact Form 7, which allows several forms and lets you customize the email you receive. To sell products (for example, gift vouchers or items from the house) the theme integrates with WooCommerce. If your audience is international, the theme points to WPML for a website in several languages. Check in the demo how each piece looks before deciding.
Questions to ask before choosing this theme for your hotel
Can it take online bookings?
Not as a booking engine with availability. You can receive enquiries through forms and, with WooCommerce, sell products. A date-based booking system requires a separate plugin.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. The work is done with drag and drop and the Customizer.
Does it look good on mobile?
Yes, the design is responsive and adjusts to different screen sizes. Even so, check your own photos and texts on a phone before publishing.
Can I use it if my property is an apartment or a hostel?
The elements (galleries, rates, map, forms) are generic and work for any type of website, but the theme is designed for hotels and resorts. Check in the demo whether its style fits yours.
