About Viva Themes Kimbo WordPress Theme

A small company website doesn't need twenty templates, it needs a home page that sets priorities

Whoever builds a small business website tends to get lost among too many options: loose sliders, blocks that don't fit together and a portfolio hidden on a forgotten page. Kimbo starts from a different idea: a home page with a strong header, featured content below and a clean portfolio to show what you do.

A visitor to a corporate website decides within moments whether your business fits their needs. That's why what matters most is what they see first and what they find one click away, more than the number of features.

Kimbo's home page: slideshow, featured items and three widget areas

The home page combines a header slideshow with a set of featured posts or pages. It puts your most important services or products up front. Below, you can show your blog, a static page or your portfolio, depending on what you want visitors to read first.

  • Masonry portfolio: a page template with a clean grid, designed for products, services or your own work.
  • Three widget areas: to add extra information, such as contact details or notices.
  • Social media menu: with 28 icons so people can follow you where you already are.
  • Multi-level menus: dropdowns for sites with several sections.
  • Full-width template: useful for pages that need room to breathe.

What to know before choosing it

Kimbo is a classic, sober theme, not a page builder: the home page is organized with its own options and widgets, so don't expect free drag-and-drop blocks. It doesn't include a store either; it's for showcasing products, not selling them. For forms it has styling for Contact Form 7, but you need to install the plugin separately.

Frequently asked questions about Kimbo

Is it suitable for a personal portfolio?

Yes. It includes a masonry-style portfolio template designed to showcase products, services or creative work.

Can I add my logo and favicon?

Yes, you upload them from the theme options. It also has a custom background panel.

Can it be translated?

It's translation ready and includes the .pot file, so you can adapt it to your language.

Does it look good on mobile?

It has a responsive design with a fluid layout that adapts to desktop, notebook, tablet and mobile.

Does it include comments and blog pagination?

Yes: threaded comments and integrated blog pagination.

A child theme with a single click

If you're going to tweak the code or styles, the sensible way is to do it in a child theme so you don't lose your changes. Kimbo lets you create and activate one with a click, which saves a technical step for anyone who doesn't code every day.

Set up your logo, featured items and widgets before publishing

To get the most out of it, prepare the logo, the favicon, the posts or pages for the slideshow and the text for the three widget areas beforehand. Then decide what goes below the featured items: blog, static page or portfolio. Check in the demo how your type of content looks before deciding, especially if your images have very different proportions.
