About Voxel – Multi Purpose Wordpress Dynamic Theme
Building a directory, a booking platform or a marketplace on WordPress often ends in a pile of plugins that don't talk to each other: one for listings, another for payments, another for memberships, and a design you have to tweak page by page every time something changes.
Voxel starts from one idea: your content leads and the design follows
People who install Voxel rarely want a brochure site. They want a platform where others publish, search, pay and get in touch, and there the real problem isn't the homepage design but the structure of the data. If you define your content types badly at the start, you'll notice once you have hundreds of listings. That's why it's worth spending time thinking about what data each listing has before touching anything visual.
The theme rests on two pieces: Custom Post Types with their own editor, and dynamic tags, which connect each template to the data in the database. You design a listing once and all the others fill themselves in.
What Voxel includes and where it has limits
Content and design
- Drag and drop field editor: more than 20 field types, 16 presets and 4 layout fields.
- Full Site Editing: headers, footers, archives, single posts and preview cards, with no hardcoded templates.
- Visibility rules and conditions to show or hide elements based on almost any data.
- In-site and email notifications when an event happens, and connection to third-party apps through automation plugins.
Search and directories
Voxel Search uses configurable filters and is advertised as up to 10 times faster than standard WordPress queries. It includes front-end submissions and business claiming: you can list companies and let the real owner claim and manage them, charging a fee in the process.
Several ways to charge
- Simple or variable products, digital or physical, subscriptions and bookings.
- Paid memberships that unlock content or features.
- Paid listings, with one-time or recurring plans.
- Promoted posts: packages that raise priority in results for a limited time.
- Marketplace with Stripe Connect and a commission on every sale by your vendors.
Community
A timeline for comments and reviews, followers, collections where each user saves what they like, and direct messages between users or with a post.
An important limit: vendor payouts depend on Stripe Connect, so your vendors will need to go through Stripe. And it's a theme for building structures, not a closed template: expect to spend time configuring.
Frequently asked questions about Voxel
Is it suitable for a simple corporate website?
It can be used that way, but its strength is dynamic sites. For a four-page site you'll have more tools than you need.
Do I need directory or membership plugins?
No: listings, memberships, payments and social features come built into the theme.
Can I build a marketplace with commissions?
Yes, with Stripe Connect and configurable commissions per sale.
Are there demos to try?
Yes: directory, car rental, social network, stays with bookings, ecommerce, doctor search, and a reviews and news site.
The demos are your best manual: pick the one closest to your idea
If your project is a rental, start from the car one; if it's a community, from the social network. Importing a demo with one click gives you a structure you can take apart and understand before creating your own.
Before you start, write down which content types you'll have, who can publish, what is charged and to whom. With that clear, configuration moves much faster.
