About WooCommerce One Page Checkout

When the customer already wants to buy, every extra click is a leak

A campaign works, the customer arrives ready to buy, and suddenly you send them to a product page, then to the cart, then to checkout. At every jump, some people drop out. With WooCommerce One Page Checkout you can put product selection and the payment form on the same page, so someone arriving from an ad, an email or a one-off offer can buy without leaving it.

If yours is a large store, the logic is different, and we explain it below.

Buying pages with your own copy on top

The most useful feature for campaigns is the shortcode: you add it to any page or post and write your message above it (the offer, the event details, the sales pitch). Visitors read and buy in the same place, without going through a separate cart.

  • Turn a page into a checkout page: in the classic WordPress editor there is a graphical interface where you pick products and a template, and it generates the shortcode for you. If you prefer, you can write it by hand with its attributes.
  • From the product page: by ticking a checkbox in the product data, that page also displays the checkout.
  • You decide what is shown: a single product, a few related ones, products from specific categories, or the whole catalog if it is small. You also control the order.

Templates depending on what you sell

The template changes the experience a lot, so it is worth choosing carefully:

  • Product table: for a few items where images help people decide.
  • Product list: with selection buttons, for when photos and descriptions are not needed.
  • Single product: reproduces the usual product page with description, images and gallery. It is the one that shows variation selectors.
  • Pricing table: a simple pricing table.

If none fits, you can create your own template. It also integrates with more than a dozen WooCommerce extensions, so it works for subscriptions, bookings or bundles, although each extension provides those features separately.

Is One Page Checkout right for your store?

It fits if you sell a small, clear set of products: single-item sales, promotions, campaign pages or small catalogs. It works the same for services (for example personal training) as for physical products, such as a monthly subscription box.

It is not for those who need customers to browse, filter and search across many categories before deciding: there, a full store flow works better. And it does not replace the WooCommerce checkout: the standard Cart and Checkout pages are still required, because order confirmation and the receipt are handled there.

Does it work with my payment gateway?

It is designed for any WooCommerce gateway that uses the standard payment section, so your current methods should appear without separate setup. Check it in the demo with yours.

Can customers choose variations of a variable product?

Yes, but only with the single product template, which shows the selectors. The other templates present each variation as a separate item.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. The product checkbox or the classic editor interface is enough. The manual shortcode is optional.

Does it reduce cart abandonment?

It shortens the path to purchase, and a long process is a common cause of abandonment. That helps, but it does not guarantee results: price, the offer copy and the trust the page conveys also matter.
