A thousand imported products give nobody a reason to buy from you
You search a keyword, tick a category, and your WooCommerce fills up with items, each with a photo, description and price. Weeks go by and the people who arrive do not buy, because those same products, with the same text, are already on Amazon and on any site that did the same thing.
Importing is the part anyone can repeat; the reason to buy from your site lies in what you add around the product. That is why the store needs content of its own besides the catalog.
WZone, by AA-Team, handles the mechanical part: bringing Amazon products into WooCommerce, keeping them current and taking the buyer through to Amazon.
Five ways to bring in the Amazon catalog
Products arrive with their attributes, their reviews and the full description, by several routes:
- Import Products: keyword search and department browsing, with configurable simultaneous import threads.
- Insane Import: 50 products at a time on general search and 100 on category or subcategory search.
- Auto Import: you schedule a keyword, a number of pages and how often the import repeats.
- CSV module: you mass import from a list of ASINs.
- Creators API: support for this new-generation Amazon product data source.
A product can have up to 300 variations, and that lengthens the import considerably. The Pagespeed module estimates an A to D score for what you are about to import and helps trim images, variations, categories and attributes.
Prices that change on Amazon and must change in your store
Synchronization updates prices, titles, buy URLs, descriptions and SKUs. One module syncs without PA API keys: it works every 15 minutes, with a 24-hour recurrence and batches of up to 99 products.
Images can be served straight from the Amazon CDN, which speeds up importing and page loading.
Payment happens on Amazon, and the buyer has to be taken there
With the 90-day cookie, the product is added automatically to the Amazon cart when the visitor arrives there and stays saved for 90 days. With On Site Cart, your customer gathers several Amazon products in one cart and pays for them all at once in the Amazon system.
The reports module brings Amazon Associates data into the WZone interface: clicks, items ordered, shipped and returned, revenue and earnings, with ranges from today to the last 90 days.
The dropshipping module adds a fixed or variable surcharge to each product, with optional rounding, and lets you track what was ordered on Amazon.
Accounts, Amazon keys and first steps with WZone
You need WooCommerce and an Amazon affiliate account. It does not work on sites hosted on WordPress.com, and for importing many products it is best to avoid shared or cheap hosting.
Amazon has replaced PA API with Creators API, and access to its product data depends on the recent sales of your affiliate account, so check the conditions for yours in Associates Central before planning the catalog.
To get the store running:
- With WooCommerce installed, add your keys in Amazon Config.
- Import a small group and check its Pagespeed score.
- Turn on the 90-day cookie or the add to cart button.
- Write your own content before growing the catalog.
AAWP for sites that live on articles
WZone creates products inside WooCommerce. AAWP works inside the content: you insert product boxes, bestseller lists and comparison tables by shortcode, with Amazon data kept current.
Keys, Creators API and marketplaces
Do I need Amazon keys?
Plan on them for importing. Synchronization has its own module that does not need PA API keys.
Can I rely on Creators API alone?
It is the new-generation Amazon data source, built into the no PA API keys module. Check with your Amazon account which operations it covers before basing the store on it.
Which Amazon stores does it work with?
Among others, Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Japan, India, Italy, China and Spain.
