About WP RSS Aggregator - Full Text RSS Feeds
The RSS feeds of many websites arrive cut short: a headline, two lines of excerpt and a link. If you import that into your site, your readers see a list of teasers and have to leave for another website to read anything. Full Text RSS Feeds is built for that problem: it brings the complete article, with its formatting and images, into the posts of your WordPress site.
What you lose when you only import excerpts
Anyone building a curated news site or a content directory is competing for one thing: getting the visitor to stay. An excerpt with a link does the opposite, because it pushes the reader toward the original source and your site ends up as a simple turnstile. With the full text, the reading happens on your page, and you still credit the original source.
This plugin is an extension of WP RSS Aggregator and does not work on its own. You need the base plugin, which manages the sources and the post import.
From truncated feed to published article, step by step
1. Add your sources
You register the websites and their feeds in WP RSS Aggregator, whether they offer only excerpts or already include the whole content.
2. Turn on the option for each source
In the source settings there is an option called Force Full Content. When you enable it, the plugin tries to extract the complete article, including images and other media, and imports it with its original formatting.
3. Decide whether to publish straight away or review first
You can publish automatically or send what is imported to draft. If you don't control where the content comes from, draft is the prudent choice: it lets you read, adjust and add your own commentary before it goes live.
Where it can fail
Not every website can be extracted equally well. If the structure of a source page is poorly built, part of the content may be left out. With a problematic source, run a test import and check the result before automating it.
Duplicate content on Google: what the plugin covers and what is up to you
Publishing someone else's full text is the delicate point of this model. The plugin can add an optional canonical link to the original article, which tells search engines where the content comes from and helps reduce duplicate content problems.
But that link does not turn your page into original content. What really sets your site apart is what you add: a summary, an opinion, the context that reader is missing. Importing as draft and editing is the sensible route.
There is also the question of permissions. Before republishing the full text of a website, check its terms on content reuse and ask for authorization when needed. The plugin does not settle that for you.
Frequently asked questions about Full Text RSS Feeds
Does it work with every website?
With most of them. There may be sites whose structure prevents the article from being extracted properly, and in those the result may be incomplete.
Can I edit the content before publishing it?
Yes. Import as draft, edit and publish. It is the recommended approach so you can add your own contribution.
Do I need to be technical?
No. It comes down to enabling an option in the source settings, especially if you already use WP RSS Aggregator.
Does it bring the images?
Yes, it tries to import the article with its images and other media, plus the original formatting.
