About WPC Advanced Password Protect for WooCommerce
A shared password stops protecting you once the third customer knows it
Anyone selling to wholesalers, partners or a closed club tends to face the same problem: special prices live in the same shop that anyone can see, and WooCommerce's native protection forces you to go product by product. In a large catalog that doesn't hold up. And a single password sooner or later ends up circulating in emails and messaging groups.
WPC Advanced Password Protect for WooCommerce brings all access rules together on a single page, with a preview, and adds what keeps a shared key from lasting forever: authentication expiry, several passwords with different dates, and a limit on failed attempts.
More than ten ways to choose what gets hidden in WPC Advanced Password Protect
Every rule starts from a source: the whole shop, specific products, product types, tags, categories, visibility (excluded from search or catalog), shipping classes or attributes. Within a source you can add several items at once, for example three categories in the same rule, and combine them with date and time conditions to decide when it activates.
Access is granted through three methods: password, user role or a specific user. A single rule can hold several passwords, roles or users. Each rule has its own name, form title and message, and you can duplicate it, delete it, collapse it or reorder it by dragging. Whoever enters the right key or logs in with an authorized account stays unlocked until they log out or the authentication expires, a time you adjust in the settings.
What to know before buying it
- Protecting by role and by user is a Premium version feature; without it, the method is the password.
- To protect by brands you need WPC Brands for WooCommerce, and for collections, WPC Smart Product Collection for WooCommerce.
- Some listings from external plugins (tables, grids or product loops) may bypass the rule. That is why there is an option to make all protected products unpurchasable: it keeps unwanted sales from happening, although the product may still appear in that listing.
Common questions about keys, expiry and forms
Can I use several passwords for the same group of products?
Yes, each with its own date and time.
How long does a visitor stay unlocked?
Until they log out or the authentication time you set runs out. After that, the key is requested again.
Can I customize what someone sees when they get it wrong?
Yes: the form title and message for each rule, plus general texts for all rules, for the wrong password and for the maximum attempts alert.
Does it work well with other plugins?
It is compatible with WPC Smart Quick View, Wishlist and Compare, and with common themes and WooCommerce add-ons.
Rules with a calendar: launches, time slots and weekends
The date and time options let you set up cases that a simple password can't cover:
- Keep products tagged "new" available only to the Shop manager role until the launch day.
- Protect three categories (hoodies, hats and sneakers) before 10 AM and after 10 PM on even dates.
- Let two specific users and the Subscribers role see certain brands only on weekends (Premium).
- Reserve newly arrived collections for people who have the password, both to view them and to buy them.
Switch roles to test each rule without asking for passwords
A badly built rule can lock out a good customer or let in someone who shouldn't be there.
