About WPC Estimated Delivery Date for WooCommerce
A customer who doesn't know when their order will arrive emails to ask, cancels, or goes to another store that does tell them. And the one who gets the parcel later than expected doesn't remember what they paid for shipping: they remember the date they were expecting.
A date shown on the product answers the question before it's asked
WPC Estimated Delivery Date for WooCommerce shows the buyer when to expect their parcel, as a range, as only the earliest date or as only the latest date, depending on the minimum and maximum days you configure. It also has a useful side effect: since the date depends on the day the order is placed, it nudges people to complete the purchase sooner to receive it sooner.
You can show it on the single product page and in the shop or archive listing, with several positions to choose from, and also in the WPC Fly Cart popup. The date format and the message texts are edited in the plugin settings, so you can adapt them to your customers' language.
Storewide rules, per-product rules and who wins when they clash
A store rarely has a single lead time. Usually what's in your warehouse ships fast and what you order from a supplier takes longer. The plugin handles this with two levels:
- Global rules: applied to all products at once or only to a selection: specific products, tags, categories, types, attributes, brands, collections, visibility or shipping classes. They can vary by shipping method and zone.
- Individual rules: set in the delivery tab of each product, where you can disable the global rules or define different ones. They take priority over the global ones.
If the customer changes the shipping method or their address in the cart, the date is recalculated. When there is no rule for that method or zone, the default rules are used.
In the cart you can show the date for each item or hide them and show one general date for the whole order. That's the sensible choice when products with different methods, zones or shipping classes are mixed: the customer wants to know when they'll have the entire order, not when each piece arrives.
Weekends, holidays and the hour after which you no longer ship today
An estimated date only builds trust if it counts days the way your business counts them. You can exclude weekends, holidays and vacation periods from the calculation. The Premium features add two more pieces:
- Multiple skipped dates with a date picker.
- An extra time line: orders placed after that hour are counted with an additional shipping day, because there is no longer time to prepare and dispatch them.
The built-in delivery simulator lets you check all of this without placing test orders. You choose a product (simple, variable or a specific variation), a zone, a shipping method and an order date and time. It distinguishes between days your warehouse doesn't dispatch and days the carrier doesn't deliver (Sundays, holidays), and returns the winning rule, the dispatch date, the delivery range and a report of which rules matched, which were overridden and why others were excluded.
Is it enough if your real lead time changes with stock or carrier?
The date comes from the lead times and calendars you write in the settings. If your real lead time changes during a campaign or because of lack of stock, you'll have to update the rules yourself. To show it somewhere other than the predefined positions there is a shortcode, and you may need some CSS so it fits your theme. It works with common WooCommerce themes and other WordPress plugins.
Can I set a different lead time on one specific product?
Yes. In the product's delivery tab you disable the global rules or create its own, and that one takes priority.
Does it update if the customer changes the shipping?
Yes, when the method or address changes in the cart the date is recalculated according to the rules for that zone and method.
Can I place it wherever I want?
With the [wpced] shortcode you can, although you may need CSS to adjust its look.
What happens with orders that come in late?
With the extra time line (Premium), orders placed after the hour you set add one shipping day.
