About XTRM – Extreme Sports
An adventure website wins with the photo, but sells with the logistics
Anyone who runs mountain bike descents, canyoning trips or extreme sports events usually has spectacular visual material and a website that doesn't make use of it: lost galleries, dates inside an image, prices in a PDF and a hidden form. XTRM is a theme designed for that kind of business, with layouts to present activities, trips and events from the first scroll.
That's why the website has to answer three questions quickly: what will I do, when, and how do I book or ask.
What XTRM gives you to build the site
- 14 homepages to choose from, so you don't start from a blank template.
- One-click demo importer: you load the sample design and replace it with your own content.
- 5 blog types, event pages, pricing, showcases of your work, About us and contact.
- Different headers and footers, plus reusable components you can combine to create as many new page layouts as you want.
- Responsive design adapted to Retina screens, important because action photos get viewed on mobile.
The plugins XTRM works with
The theme is compatible with WPBakery Page Builder, the drag and drop editor used to assemble pages, and also with Gutenberg. It also integrates with other plugins:
- The Grid: to display posts, portfolio or products in customizable grids, useful for the activity catalog or the event gallery.
- Contact Form 7: contact forms with AJAX submission, CAPTCHA and Akismet spam filtering.
- Google Maps for WPBakery: responsive maps to show meeting points or routes, with many visual styles.
- WooCommerce: stores with integrated design, to sell gear or merchandise.
- Booked: listed among the compatible plugins.
Two real-use examples
A surf school can use a homepage with video, a pricing page by class type and the blog to publish the wave report or trip stories. An extreme sports festival organizer can rely on the event pages, the shop for T-shirts and a grid with previous editions.
Decide whether XTRM fits your business, and what you're missing
Before choosing it, be clear that it depends on external plugins to get the most out of it; you install and manage them yourself. It is a theme for look and structure, not a complete booking system: if you need a calendar with availability and payment for places, you'll have to rely on a specific plugin, and it's worth checking in the demo how it looks with the one you choose.
