Give people access to the shop without opening the back door
Sooner or later someone else has to upload products or check orders: a partner, an employee, a supplier. Then the usual dilemma appears: give them access to the WordPress admin, with everything that exposes, or do it all yourself. On top of that, anyone who doesn't know WooCommerce well ends up eating up hours of training and making mistakes in an area where a mistake costs money.
YITH Frontend Manager for WooCommerce Premium moves that management to a dashboard on the public side of the shop. Whoever uses it works in a reduced interface, without seeing the WordPress desktop or the WooCommerce panel.
What each person can do inside the dashboard
You decide which sections are enabled in the dashboard. The available ones are:
- Dashboard: the overview.
- Products: creating and editing products, with its own search box.
- Orders: orders, which can also be filtered by status.
- Coupons: coupons.
- Reports: reports.
- Commissions: commissions, designed for use with Multi Vendor.
If someone tries to enter a section they are not allowed to use, you can show them a custom message instead of a bare error.
Keeping your managers out of the admin area
The core feature is blocking backend access for all shop managers, so they can only work from the dashboard. This way you limit what they touch and reduce the risk of a wrong change affecting the whole shop.
You can also adjust how people get in and how it looks:
- Access from the WordPress bar (if you enable it for managers) or from My Account.
- Editable endpoints for each section from the plugin settings.
- Three skins: the dashboard can appear integrated in My Account or as its own full-screen page.
Marketplaces need YITH Multi Vendor
Expectations should be clear here. What the plugin solves by itself and what you will have to cover another way:
- Solved: frontend dashboard for managers, backend blocking, section selection, access-denied message and skins.
- With YITH Multi Vendor: giving each vendor a private dashboard, with the sections you choose and no access to the WordPress desktop. The plugin is recommended for use alongside Multi Vendor.
- With other plugins: auctions, custom order statuses, featured video and audio, or name-your-price are managed from the dashboard only if you have the matching YITH plugins installed (Auctions, Custom Order Status, Featured Audio & Video Content, Name Your Price).
- On you: training your collaborators on the dashboard and deciding which permissions they get.
Integrations with other YITH plugins
All YITH products share the same framework, and this plugin builds on that base. With Custom Order Status, the statuses you create also appear in the dashboard's orders section. With Name Your Price, you can edit the suggested, minimum and maximum price of each product. With Featured Audio & Video Content, the manager adds or removes videos on products. With Auctions, you manage auction products from the frontend.
It is compatible with the Avada and Flatsome themes, as well as YITH Proteo, and supports WPML, Weglot and Loco Translate. Check in the demo how the dashboard looks with your theme before handing it to your team.
Frequently asked questions
Can I give access to products only and not orders?
Yes. You choose which sections are enabled, and the ones that aren't do not appear in the dashboard.
Does it work for a marketplace with several vendors?
Yes, but you need YITH Multi Vendor. With it, each vendor manages their products and orders from their private dashboard.
Do managers still see the WordPress desktop?
No, if you enable backend blocking: they only work in the frontend dashboard.
Can I change how the dashboard looks?
You can choose between three skins and show it inside My Account or full-screen. The addresses of each section can also be edited.
