Selling products the customer configures
WooCommerce handles variations well: size, colour, two or three attributes with their combinations. What it does not handle is anything that is not a closed combination. An engraving with whatever text the customer types, a photo they upload, a delivery date, three cake toppings each priced differently. Those are not variations, they are options, and WooCommerce does not have them.
This plugin adds them through option blocks assigned to products or to whole categories.
The field types
Text and textarea with character limits, radio buttons, checkboxes, dropdowns, file upload with drag and drop, date picker with time, colour swatches and picker, number selectors, label or image options, selecting other products as add-ons, and HTML elements such as headings and separators.
How it affects the price
Here is what separates this plugin from a simple text box. Each option can be:
- Free, with no effect on price.
- Fixed cost added.
- Percentage, markup or discount.
- Text multiplier: the longer the text, the higher the price. That is exactly how engraving or embroidery is charged.
- Quantity multiplier, on number fields.
- First X free, charging from there on. The way extra pizza toppings get sold.
Conditional logic
Options show or hide according to what the customer selects. The classic example: the image upload field only appears if they ticked "customise product". Without that, the form overwhelms with twenty fields of which only three apply.
Control over presentation
Vertical or grid layout with configurable columns, collapsible sections, mandatory or optional selections, minimum and maximum selection counts, visibility by user role, and position before or after the add to cart button. You can also **hide the buy button until the mandatory options are chosen**, which prevents incomplete orders.
In the cart
Chosen options appear in the cart and in order emails. Since version 4 the customer can edit them from a modal without removing the product and adding it again.
What it is used for
Jewellery with engraving and stone selection, custom clothing with photo or embroidery, tech with warranty and upgrades, food delivery with tiered toppings, and rentals or services with insurance and installation.

How is it different from WooCommerce variations?
Variations are closed combinations. This adds open options: free text, files, dates and calculated pricing.
Can I charge by text length?
Yes, there is a text multiplier, which is how engraving gets billed.
Can I force a choice before buying?
Yes, the buy button can be hidden until the mandatory options are filled in.
Can the customer change options once in the cart?
Yes, since version 4 they are edited in a modal without removing the product.
