When the price depends on who is asking
Some businesses have no single price. The same pallet of material costs one thing for a customer ordering two a year and another for one ordering twenty a month. In those cases putting a figure on the product page is impossible or actively counterproductive, because it forces you to publish the highest price and scares off the large customer before you have spoken to them.
This plugin replaces the price and the buy button with a quote request, turning WooCommerce into a B2B selling tool.
How the loop works
- The customer gathers products into a quote list, as they would a cart, and sends the request.
- You prepare the offer, adjusting prices, shipping, discounts and payment and delivery terms.
- It goes out as a PDF, on your own template, with an expiry date if you want to set a deadline.
- The customer accepts or rejects from the email or their account, and on acceptance the offer becomes an order.
What saves you the chasing calls
It sends automatic reminders, both a few days after the offer goes out and before it expires. In B2B selling much of the closing happens there: most quotes are not lost on price, they are lost because nobody followed up.
You can also create quotes by hand for the customer who phoned, and let a visitor turn their cart into a quote request from the checkout page itself.
A word about hiding prices
It can be applied to the whole shop, but it almost never should be. Hiding every price scares off the small customer who would have bought without asking, and leaves your product pages without the information people look for before clicking through, which shows up in the traffic.
What usually works better is applying it in parts: prices visible on the normal catalogue and quotes only on the professional range, or prices for everyone except the wholesale customer group. The plugin allows configuration by user role, by product and by category, precisely for that.
