About YITH Woocommerce Role Based Prices Premium

One product, three prices and a single catalog

Selling to individuals and resellers from the same store often ends up as two duplicated websites, PDF price lists or discounts applied by hand order after order. When a wholesale customer asks what something costs, someone has to open a spreadsheet.

People who set up a store with mixed sales often overlook something: the wholesale price is not just a number, it is a way of deciding who sees what. YITH Woocommerce Role Based Prices Premium works right there: each user role (or each specific customer) sees the price meant for them, and you keep a single catalog.

Rules by role and by customer: how prices are built

The heart of the plugin is the price rules panel. Each rule can apply to all products or only to certain products, categories or tags, and you can exclude specific products. Some examples of what it allows:

  • Percentage or fixed-amount discount, for example 15% off the whole catalog for the reseller role.
  • Markup by percentage or amount, useful if you want a role (for example international customers) to cover taxes or export costs.
  • Fixed price per role or per customer, without going through discounts: 150 for individuals, 120 for partners, 100 for resellers.
  • Rules for specific customers, such as a fixed discount for a loyal customer on the whole catalog or only on one category.

Each rule has a priority, so you can combine several on the same products. And if a product is already on sale, you decide whether the rule is calculated on the regular price or on the discounted one.

What each visitor sees: prices, tables and a closed catalog

This is where the plugin goes beyond discounts. A user view table lets you decide, role by role, whether to show the regular price, the price with the rule applied, the discount or markup amount, the price including taxes and the add to cart buttons.

With that you can set up a catalog mode: hide prices and the purchase button from unregistered visitors so that only partners or resellers can buy. You can also show a table on the product page with the price for each role, plus customizable messages (with color and position of your choice) that invite visitors to register as a partner or reseller to get the better price. If there is a discount, you can add a badge with the percentage saved.

A practical advantage: changing a margin for a whole role means editing one rule, not editing product by product.

Deciding if it fits: existing roles, limits and common questions

The plugin assigns prices to roles that already exist; it does not create new roles or manage memberships. If you need customers to move from one role to another automatically (for example when they buy a certain product or reach a cumulative spend), you need another plugin that changes roles. YITH Automatic Role Changer for WooCommerce, from its own catalog, is compatible. Nor is it a wholesaler approval system or a professional registration form: it assumes users already have their role.

Can I show prices only to registered users?

Yes. You can hide prices and the purchase button from unregistered visitors or specific roles, and customize the text they see instead.

Can I give a discount to a single customer?

Yes, with rules tied to specific customers, across the whole catalog or on one category.

Can I raise prices for a group?

Yes. Besides discounts, it supports markups by percentage or fixed amount for specific roles.

What happens if two rules affect the same product?

Each rule has a priority, which decides the order in which they are applied and combined. It is wise to test with a test customer before going live.
