About Advanced Dynamic Pricing for WooCommerce (Pro)
WooCommerce has one price per product and real commerce does not work that way
The real price depends on who is buying and how much they are taking. The wholesaler pays less than the consumer. Ten units work out better than one. The box of twelve has its own price. The customer who has already bought three times deserves something. And this week there is a promotion on one particular category.
None of that fits in a product's price field. Advanced Dynamic Pricing adds the layer of rules deciding what price each person sees.
What it can condition on
- Quantity, with the price updating by itself as the customer adds units in the cart.
- Customer group: role, specific user, first purchase or spending history.
- Cart contents: weight, item count, whether a coupon is applied.
- Category or product, for targeted promotions.
- Checkout moment: shipping method, region, payment method.
- Time window, so the promotion switches itself on and off.
And on top of that, buy one get one, gifts with purchase, flash sales and tiered pricing.
The problem appears with rule number eight
Here is what no product page mentions and what is worth keeping in mind from the start: rules accumulate and start treading on each other.
A wholesale customer, buying ten units, from a category on promotion, with a coupon applied, meets four rules at once. Do the discounts add up? Does the largest win? Do they apply in sequence? If you have not decided, the order in which you created them decides, and then comes the phone call asking why the price differs from yesterday's.
The practical recommendation: write down on paper, before touching the plugin, which discounts can combine and which exclude each other. And use rule priority explicitly rather than leaving it at the default. Half an hour there saves weeks of doubt.
Requirements
It needs WooCommerce, with WordPress 5.4.2 or above and WooCommerce 4.2 or above. Rules are configured from the admin, without coding.
How to start
One. Build a single rule, the one moving the most money, and leave it running for a week.
Two. Check the discount shows in the listing and not only in the cart. A price that only appears at the end does not sell: the customer already left.
Three. Make a real test purchase for every customer type you have. As a wholesale role, logged out, and with a coupon.
Four. Before adding the second rule, decide in writing how it coexists with the first.
Alternatives in the catalogue
The most direct alternative is Discount Rules for WooCommerce, covering the same ground with a different interface. Worth comparing both with your specific case in front of you, because the difference is in how rules get configured and how conflicts get resolved.
If your need is only quantity discounts, the quantity discounts plugin does that part without the rest of the complexity.
If what you want is conditional discounting and a points programme, that is Advanced Coupons. And if you sell wholesale, the piece needed before the prices is telling a genuine wholesaler apart: the registration form with approval handles that.
