About Advanced Product Fields Pro for WooCommerce
When the price depends on what the customer chooses
WooCommerce knows how to sell a product with a price. What it does not know is how to calculate one: a banner at so much per square metre, furniture whose price rises with the dimensions, a print order where cost depends on material and finish. There the standard catalogue runs out of tools and the usual way out is a quote form and a phone call.
Advanced Product Fields adds custom fields to products, and above all adds **how those fields affect the price**.
The field types
More than 20: single and multi-line text, number, email, URL, toggle, checkboxes, radio buttons, dropdowns, file upload, date picker, colour, text and image swatches, child products, cards, content fields with text, HTML, images or shortcodes, image with quantities, and a field displaying the calculation.
How the price is calculated
Here is what separates this plugin from the ones that only add fields:
- Flat fee added to the base price.
- Percentage of the product cost.
- By character count of the text the customer types.
- By entered value, when the customer keys in a figure.
- By formula, for complex cases. That is what solves price per square metre: width by height by rate.
- By lookup table, when the price follows a matrix of values rather than a formula.
The price updates in front of the customer as they fill things in, before reaching the cart. That matters: a quote seen immediately closes sales a contact form loses.
Conditional logic
Fields show or hide based on the values of others, so a long configurator does not overwhelm: each question appears when it is due.
Where they apply
Fields are assigned per product or globally by category, tag or product type. They work with simple products, variable products, variations and subscriptions.
What it is used for
Product configurators, pricing by measurement, mix-and-match products with stock tracking, print on demand with customer text and images, and add-ons on the product page itself.
