About Affiliate Portal
Your affiliates aren't visitors to your site, they come to work
Anyone running an affiliate program often finds out late that the Affiliate Area inherits the look of their theme. Fixing it depends on how comfortable you are with code.
Affiliate Portal is an AffiliateWP Pro addon that replaces that screen with a dashboard of its own, designed so the affiliate can get their work done rather than match your website.
A dashboard that doesn't look like the rest of your site, and that's why it works
Your website is designed to sell. The affiliate dashboard has another goal. Affiliate Portal accepts that difference: it doesn't try to imitate your theme, it offers a modern, independent interface that works with any WordPress theme and adapts to desktop, tablet and mobile. There's no CSS, JS or PHP to write, and it needs no maintenance.
The portal's pages and what stays out
The portal organizes the affiliate's work into separate sections:
- Dashboard: the overview on login.
- Affiliate URLs: where they generate their referral links.
- Referrals and visits: to follow what they've achieved.
- Payouts: the payouts page.
- Creatives: the promotional material, with paginated browsing.
- Settings: their account details.
Data can be sorted, which is welcome when an affiliate has piled up many referrals.
Two addons that don't work with the portal
This addon doesn't stand alone: it needs AffiliateWP, which creates the Affiliate Area. Most addons that interact with that area are also integrated with the portal, but two are not compatible: Affiliate Area Tabs and Affiliate Dashboard Sharing. If your program depends on either of them, the portal isn't for you. Don't expect to customize it to your taste either: its whole approach is that you shouldn't have to touch it.
Frequently asked questions before you activate it
Does it look like my theme?
No, and that's intentional. The portal has its own look and doesn't inherit your theme's.
What happens if I uninstall it?
Your affiliates will see the default Affiliate Area again. The addon doesn't change your site permanently.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. It requires no code or customization.
Does it work without AffiliateWP?
No. It's a Pro addon that relies on the Affiliate Area created by AffiliateWP.
Is it compatible with all my addons?
With most of those that touch the Affiliate Area, except the two mentioned above. Check your list before activating it.
Try it with a real affiliate account before telling anyone
Since uninstalling brings back the default Affiliate Area, trying it carries little risk. Log in with a test affiliate account and go through every page, especially on mobile. Check that the addons you use still appear, and only then announce the change to your affiliates.
