The same room on sale in two places

Your property is already listed on a booking platform, and now you want your own site to sell direct. From that day on, Saturday night sits in two shop windows. If someone buys it in one, the other keeps offering it until somebody closes it.

Before design, a booking site forces you to decide who looks after the calendar when you sell on more than one channel. Alloggio, the Qode Interactive theme for hotels, B&B, apartments and resorts, brings its own booking system integrated into the theme, with payment through WooCommerce. iCal sync and connections to Airbnb or Booking.com are not theme features.

If your site is your only channel, or you handle the others by hand, that approach may be enough. If you rely on automatic sync, look at the alternatives further down first.

The guest's journey inside Alloggio

• Availability search: on the demo it asks for check-in, check-out, number of rooms and guests, separating adults, children aged 2 to 12 and infants up to 2.
• Room page: gallery, amenities, house rules, cancellation, availability calendar, location and booking form.
• Listings: cards with photo, from price, size, occupancy and booking button, in standard, gallery, simple and boxed styles.
• Several rooms: several reservations are added to the cart and the purchase is then completed.
• Confirmation: the person booking gets a notification email once the purchase is done.

The from price and what gets added later

The room card shows a from price, and the final bill may be something else. One of the room templates shows a seasonal pricing table, with low and high rate periods by date.

Below the form come the extra services. On the demo they are a security deposit, a service fee, breakfast and car rental, and the reservation price appears at the end. That way the guest sees every surcharge before paying.

Check on the demo whether these pieces cover the way you charge. If your rate changes between weekdays and weekends, for example, test it before loading all your rooms.

Bookings by date, inside WordPress

• By date, not by the hour: a booking runs from a check-in date to a check-out date, with no hourly option, though there is a half-day setting.
• Inside WordPress: bookings are managed in your install and not from a separate system.
• A single flow: requests go through the theme's form, which lives on each room page. Reorganizing it or changing the process means editing theme files.
• External engines: to book off the site, the buttons are redirected by editing the theme. You can also hide the form and add a contact form to receive inquiries.

Choosing a home page and creating your rooms

Alloggio includes home pages for a hotel, B&B, hostel, summer resort, vacation resort and a landing page, besides the main one. It is installed together with Elementor, WooCommerce, Contact Form 7, Slider Revolution and its hotel module. The restaurant module adds the menu and opening hours.

1. Import the demo closest to your property.
2. Set up payment in WooCommerce with your gateway and make a test purchase.
3. Create a real room with its seasons and extra services.
4. Book that room from a phone and check the email you receive.
5. Decide how you will keep the dates you sell on other channels up to date.

If your property needs to sync or take deposits

When the central problem is sharing dates across channels, MotoPress Hotel Booking is a plugin that exchanges calendars over iCal with Booking.com, Airbnb and other platforms. Hotale is a theme with its own bookings that allows partial payment and deposits on its direct route. And Sunway is of interest if your minimum stay rules weigh on the decision.

Does Alloggio need a separate booking plugin?

No. The form is integrated into the theme, and the purchase is processed with WooCommerce.

Does it sync with Booking.com?

No. That sync is not a theme feature.

Can it be booked by the hour?

No. It works with check-in and check-out dates.

Can several rooms be booked at once?

Yes, by adding several reservations to the cart before completing the purchase.
