You want your community to respond to what happens in it: for a post with plenty of support to have consequences, for someone who joins a group to receive a message. Rules of that kind start from a member's gesture, and a gesture can be undone.

A retracted like or reaction is also an event, so a rule based on likes is not complete until you decide what to do about its opposite.

AutomatorWP PeepSo connects the PeepSo social network with AutomatorWP. It offers triggers on avatars, posts, comments, likes, reactions, friendships, groups and messages, and actions that create activity, send notifications, move users between groups or send a private message.

Thirty-three triggers and five actions

Three triggers are offered at no cost: changing the profile avatar, writing an activity post and creating a group. The other thirty are Pro and are grouped like this:

• Profile and comments: changing the profile cover and commenting on an activity post.
• Likes: giving a like or retracting it, and receiving it or losing it, on another user's profile, a post, a post with a photo, a post with a video or a comment.
• Reactions: the same five objects, with reacting and retracting the reaction, both for the person reacting and for the content owner.
• Friendships: sending a friend request and accepting it.
• Groups: joining, requesting to join, leaving, and changing the group avatar or cover.
• Messages: starting a conversation.

The five actions are Pro: adding an activity to a user, adding a notification to them, adding them to a group, removing them from a group and sending them a private message.

An example to test with the support received

This combination uses Pro-level features and is our own: test it with test accounts. It starts from the rule "when a user gets five likes on an activity post with a video":

1. A trigger for receiving a like on a post with a video, repeated five times, with the action of adding a notification to the author.
2. Another rule for the opposite case, losing a like on that same kind of post, to decide whether you want to do something when someone retracts it.
3. A test with several test accounts that give and remove the like, to check what fires and how many times.

Until you run that test, you will not know how the rule counts retracted support.

Limits of the integration

The triggers and actions are those in the lists above. Among its features there are no actions for deleting or editing posts.

The free triggers are only three. To react to likes, reactions, friendships, messages or group changes the Pro part is needed. The actions are all Pro too.

First steps and requirements

You need WordPress with PeepSo and AutomatorWP active, and the PeepSo modules whose activity you want to automate, such as friendships or groups.

1. Install and activate this add-on with the WordPress installer.
2. Create a new automation in AutomatorWP.
3. Choose a PeepSo event as the trigger, for example receiving a like.
4. Choose the action: notify, add activity, move between groups or send a private message.
5. Activate the automation and test it with test accounts before opening it to the community.
