Charge for the appointment before the slot goes empty
In an appointment business (hair salon, clinic, classes, consulting) an hour nobody uses can't be sold twice. If a customer books without paying and doesn't show up, that slice of your calendar is lost for good. Asking for a card payment at the moment of booking changes the kind of booking you get: someone who has already paid has one more reason to turn up.
This addon connects BookingPress with Authorize.net so the customer pays inside the booking form itself.
Authorize.net inside the BookingPress form
The customer picks a service and a time, pays with their usual card, and you manage bookings and payments from BookingPress. Authorize.net supports connections to the major credit card processors, so you are not tied to a single way of collecting appointment payments.
Fraud, stored cards and expiry dates
These features come from Authorize.net's own system, and they matter most for a business with repeat customers:
- Fraud detection: it identifies suspicious transactions and sketchy IP addresses, and it can be configured to your business needs.
- Customer information manager: it stores card data securely, up to 10 cards per customer.
- Account updater: stored cards update automatically when they expire, handy if you keep many on file.
If you sell one-off sessions, you may barely notice the stored cards. If your customers come back every month, it keeps an expired card from leaving you with an unpaid appointment.
It does nothing without BookingPress Pro installed
It is an add-on, not a booking system. This split helps you see what is already solved and what is up to you:
- Solved: card payment inside the BookingPress form, the connection with Authorize.net, and managing bookings and payments from the same place.
- Up to you: opening and setting up your Authorize.net account with the processor you choose.
- Up to you: writing your cancellation and refund terms, and telling customers how you handle their data.
- Up to you: if you want to offer other payment methods, installing the matching add-on separately.
Questions before connecting Authorize.net
Can I also offer other gateways?
BookingPress has addons for other gateways, such as Stripe, Mollie, PayPal Pro or Razorpay, each one separate. If you want to combine several, check in the demo how they are shown to the customer.
How many cards can each customer store?
Up to 10 per customer, according to Authorize.net's customer information manager.
Does it eliminate fraud completely?
No. Authorize.net identifies suspicious transactions and sketchy IP addresses to protect the payment process, but no tool guarantees there will be no fraud attempts.
