About BookingPress Google Calendar Addon

If your team lives in Google Calendar and you manage from BookingPress

A booking that only exists in the WordPress dashboard is a booking the professional never sees. The person serving clients checks their phone, not the website's admin area, and an appointment that does not show up in their calendar ends up forgotten or poorly prepared. This addon solves exactly that: it brings each appointment into the Google Calendar of the assigned staff member.

It suits you if you work with several people who handle different services and want to see their schedule where they already look. It also suits you if you or a front desk manage changes from a single place.

It is not for you if you expect the team to move or cancel appointments from Google: that path does not work. And it is not a standalone plugin: it is an add-on that needs the paid version of BookingPress.

What the professional sees in their Google event

When a customer books, the appointment is created in the staff member's calendar with a title, a description and a location that you define in the settings. It is worth thinking carefully about those three texts: they are all the professional will read on their phone before the appointment, so they should make clear which service it is and where it takes place.

One direction only: from BookingPress to Google, never back

Synchronization works one way. Whatever you change in BookingPress is updated in Google Calendar, but whatever someone modifies in Google does not return to BookingPress.

  • Cancelling, deleting or rescheduling an appointment is done from BookingPress.
  • If a professional drags the event to another time in Google, the booking in BookingPress stays at the original time.
  • The practical risk: the customer thinks they have one time and the professional sees another. Agree with your team that changes go through whoever administers BookingPress.

Busy slots are not offered again

If a staff member already has a service assigned in a time slot, that slot shows as busy in their Google Calendar and can no longer be booked on the website for that time. This way you avoid two customers asking for the same professional at the same hour.

Services with several spots: only the last location counts

If a service admits more than one person at a time, the Google event stores only the location of the last appointment that was booked, rescheduled or updated. If you run classes or group sessions in different places, check in the demo that this behavior works for you.
