About Cost of Goods for WooCommerce Pro

The sales report tells you what came in, not what you kept

Looking at your store's revenue and feeling everything is fine is easy. What's hard is knowing which product makes you money and which one takes it away every time it sells. WooCommerce reports sales, but not real profit per product, nor what a refund truly costs.

That's the core idea behind Cost of Goods for WooCommerce Pro: in an online store, margin doesn't live in the product, it lives in the variation, the payment gateway and the shipping. The same item can make money in one size and lose it in another, and the average hides it.

Cost of Goods for WooCommerce Pro: cost applied to every layer of the sale

You enter what each thing costs you and the plugin calculates profit and margin per order. You don't need to be an accountant.

  • Cost per product and per variation: every size, color or format has its own cost, so a single misleading cost no longer exists.
  • Gateway fees: you set each gateway's percentage once and it is deducted from the profit of every order.
  • Cost per shipping class: the light parcel and the bulky one no longer cost the same in your numbers.
  • Multiple currencies: it supports more than 160 currency codes, with automatic conversion and custom exchange rates.
  • Cost history: every change is saved with a date, so you can tell what a product cost before you switched supplier.
  • Alert in the order email: profit appears in the emails, so you spot a loss-making order before shipping it.
  • Reports: profit by product, by category and by date range.

One tumbler in three sizes and three different margins

Catalog with many variations

If you sell the same item in several sizes, with cost per variation you quickly see which one sells for less than it is worth. To load thousands of references, you map a CSV column to the cost field, and you can also use bulk editing.

Store that takes payments several ways and in several currencies

When you mix gateways with different fees and customers from other countries, the profit on a 50 order isn't the same depending on how it was paid. Here every gateway subtracts its fee and costs are converted to your currency.

Store with frequent refunds

A refund isn't just giving the amount back: it can add lost shipping and restocking costs. The plugin offers three ways to handle refunds: ignore them, deduct them or recalculate them, depending on the margin policy you want to reflect.

Store coming from WooCommerce's official module

If you already used WooCommerce's cost module, it includes a migration guide so you don't start from scratch.

Questions before installing it

Does it work with variable products?

Yes. The cost field appears on every variation and you can fill it in in bulk.

Can I import the costs I already have in a spreadsheet?

Yes, with CSV import: you assign a column to "Cost" and load the catalog in one go.

Is it useful if I charge in more than one currency?

Yes. It converts costs automatically and supports your own exchange rates.

What happens with products that have zero cost?

It handles them without calculation errors, so you can leave unpriced anything you haven't valued yet.

Is it compatible with order and invoice plugins?

It has been tested with Google Product Feed, WooCommerce PDF Invoices & Packing Slips, WooCommerce Subscriptions, Dokan and WCFM, among others. If you use something very specific, try it in the demo.

Cost of Goods Pro doesn't know your costs: you enter them

The plugin calculates, but it doesn't guess. If you don't load a product's cost, its profit won't be reliable, and you'll have to keep that data up to date when a supplier changes. It is a margin tool inside WooCommerce, not a replacement for your accounting.
