About Destiny Elements (For Breakdance)
On a Breakdance site, the unbilled hours go into the small pieces
Anyone building sites with Breakdance budgets the front page, the templates and the shop. They do not budget the small pieces every client asks for: a search box with results while typing, a table that does not break on mobile, a footer year that updates itself. Each one is half an hour of workarounds, and it repeats on every project.
Those pieces do not show up in the proposal, but they are the ones that eat the margin. Destiny Elements gathers more than thirty of them as elements you drag from their own panel inside the Breakdance editor, with styles editable from the interface.
The Destiny Elements elements, by group
- Essentials: Destiny Search, Ajax Search, Taxonomy Loop Builder, Quickview, Read More, Destiny Accordion, Off Canvas, Table and Responsive Table, Team, Timeline, Destiny Button, Back To Top Button, Copyright Year and Google Reviews.
- Blog: Reading Time, Progress Bar, Table Of Contents, Date Updated, Page Views and Taxonomies.
- Extras: Advanced OpenStreetMap, Advanced Google Map, Image Hotspots, Audio Player, Food Menu, Flip Card, Tilt Card, Image Accordion, Custom Cursor, Preloader, Scroll Button, Filter and Language Switcher.
- Forms: elements for Gravity Forms, Fluent Forms and Formidable Forms.
Live search, where the most time is won back
Ajax Search shows results as you type and is configured entirely in the editor:
- What it searches: any content type, or several at once, with number of results, order and direction.
- What it shows: an excerpt with adjustable length, featured image, results count and a button to see them all, each one switchable on its own.
- How it filters: an optional taxonomy dropdown, with the taxonomy you choose.
- In shops: with WooCommerce active it can show the regular and sale price of the product.
Quickview completes it: it opens the details of a product or portfolio item in a popup, without leaving the page.
What it needs from others, and what it does not do
The form elements do not create forms. The Fluent Forms one needs that plugin installed and styles, without CSS, the form whose ID you give it. It covers the free version: file uploads or multi-step forms cannot be customised from there.
Google Reviews depends on Google. The rating badge works without an API, but the reviews grid needs a Google Places API key and the place ID, and shows at most the last five. It can hide the lower-star ones. Be careful with that: in the United States, the FTC rule on reviews, in force since October 2024, prohibits implying that the reviews displayed represent all or most of them when the lowest-rated ones are being hidden.
Language Switcher does not translate. It is the language selector, compatible with Polylang and WPML, which are the ones doing the work.
Page Views is not analytics. It counts one view per visitor, and another if they return from the same browser after 24 hours. It is a figure to display, not to measure with.
Installing Destiny Elements on a Breakdance site
The only published requirement is having Breakdance installed, with no minimum versions, so it is worth testing it first on a copy of the site.
- In the dashboard, go to Plugins, Add New and Upload Plugin, choose the Destiny Elements file, install it and activate it.
- The Destiny Elements menu in the dashboard holds the Google Places key and the reviews reload frequency.
- Open the Breakdance editor and look for the Destiny Elements panel.
- Start with the pieces you repeat on every project, such as the search box or the footer year.
What it pairs with in the catalogue
Destiny Elements does not work without the builder: Breakdance Pro is the base, with its own 145 elements, and Destiny Elements adds its own on top.
If you are after effects rather than utilities, Elements Hive Pro goes another way: creative elements with animations and WebGL.
Questions before installing Destiny Elements
Does it work without Breakdance?
No. It is an element add-on for Breakdance and the elements appear inside its editor.
Do I need Gravity Forms or Fluent Forms?
Only if you want to use their elements. The Fluent Forms one, for example, styles a form that already exists in that plugin.
Do the Google reviews work without a key?
The rating badge does. The reviews grid needs a Google Places API key.
