About Elementor Shortcode Builder for MEC

An events calendar is designed with real events, not placeholders

Setting up an events shortcode is usually trial and error: you paste it into a page, look at the result, see that the listing doesn't fit and start over. With long titles, filters or a search bar, every adjustment means another round.

Event organizers have a problem other businesses don't: their content keeps changing. A layout that looks great with three events can feel cramped with fifteen. That's why it helps to see the shortcode working with your events while you build it, and that's what Elementor Shortcode Builder for MEC does: it brings that work into the Elementor editor.

From an empty page to a searchable agenda, step by step

Imagine you run workshops and want a page with the agenda and a search bar. This is how the process would go:

  • Get the basics ready: you need Elementor and Modern Events Calendar (Lite or Pro). This add-on doesn't create events or work on its own; you keep loading your events in MEC.
  • Choose the shortcode: you add and configure it from Elementor, and you can see its different skins and types.
  • Watch it as you build it: changes show up as you make them, without leaving the editor.
  • Apply filters: you set them in Elementor to check how your agenda looks with them.
  • Test the search: you activate the search bar in different shortcodes, add fields to it and visually check how it responds.
  • Remove what's not needed: you show or hide the elements of each shortcode to keep only what your audience needs.
  • Put it where it belongs: you add and configure the shortcode anywhere on your site.

The limit is in the MEC edition: to use all shortcodes without restrictions you need MEC Pro. And the design still depends on your events: if they lack information, no visual adjustment will invent it.

Common questions before building the agenda

Does it work without Modern Events Calendar?

No. It's an MEC add-on and requires MEC Lite or Pro.

Do I have to write code?

The work is done in Elementor's visual editor: you choose and look at the result.

Can I use all shortcodes with MEC Lite?

To use them all without limitation you need MEC Pro.

Can I give them my own style?

Yes. You can add your own styles to the shortcodes, from typography to the distance between elements.

One typeface for every shortcode with Elementor Shortcode Builder for MEC

If your site has a general agenda, a listing per category and another on the home page, each one often ends up with a different font. This add-on lets you manage the typography of all shortcodes at once, so your calendar keeps the same look on every page. It's a design aid, not a replacement for event management: MEC still does that work.
