About FlatMobile – Responsive WordPress Mobile Theme

Fitting on a phone does not mean your site works well with a thumb

You open your site on the phone and everything fits: the columns stack and the menu hides behind an icon in the top corner. The responsive test passes. Even so, the experience is still that of a desktop site on a small screen, and the main actions stay out of reach.

Making a design responsive settles where each thing fits. You still have to decide what the finger reaches first. Apps answer that with bottom bars, sheets that open from the edge and a floating action button.

FlatMobile, by Mobius Studio, is a WordPress theme that brings those pieces to a regular site: you edit it with Elementor or the block editor, and it stays your WordPress site.

App pieces available in FlatMobile

  • Bottom navigation, to keep the main sections within reach of the thumb.
  • Edge sheets that slide in from the side of the screen.
  • Floating action button, to highlight one action.
  • Snackbar, the short notices seen in apps.

It is rounded out with 8 headers, 5 footers and a header and footer builder. Touch targets measure at least 44 px, default colors meet WCAG AA contrast and it respects the reduced-motion preference.

Ten demos and the settings that come with them

Six are for business and four for shops. They cover finance, health, education, fitness, travel, food, smart home, sneakers, grocery and beauty. Every demo page exists in an Elementor version and a Gutenberg block version.

The demo photos are placeholders: you import structure and colors, but the images do not arrive. Prepare your own before judging the result.

With Elementor you get 75 widgets, 54 general and 21 for WooCommerce, with no need for Elementor Pro. Product cards can carry size chips, a quantity stepper or an add-to-cart button, and sale badges.

The theme includes performance switches for inline critical CSS, deferred scripts, lazy images, carousels that load only when needed and minified code.

If you need to go further, you have an options panel, Customizer controls, fields for your own CSS and JavaScript, and a child theme. It also brings a demo export tool. For multilingual sites there are .pot files and support for Polylang and WPML, plus per-language logos.

An app-looking site does not reach the app stores

FlatMobile changes how your site is presented and navigated. Its features include no publishing to the App Store or Google Play, and no push notifications. If that is what you need, look for a product dedicated to it.

If you already have a site on this theme, plan for a fresh install or a demo import.

Requirements and getting started with the wizard

It needs free Elementor, plus WooCommerce for the shop demos. The setup wizard can install both. The package includes the theme, the child theme and the Companion plugin, which comes inside the theme.

  1. Install and activate FlatMobile, or its child theme if you will touch the code.
  2. Follow the wizard to install Elementor and, if you will sell, WooCommerce.
  3. Import the demo closest to your business.
  4. Open the site on a real phone and decide which sections go in the bottom navigation.
  5. Replace the placeholder images with your own.

Add-ons and themes for the mobile experience

SuperPWA turns your site into a progressive web app with no code changes. It can be a good complement to a theme like this, and the combination is worth testing.

If you sell and want a store theme focused on mobile, look at Puca. And if what you need is to promote an app that already exists, Rocket is a landing page theme for mobile apps.

If you want your site to feel like an app

Do I need Elementor Pro?

No. The 75 widgets work without Elementor Pro.

Can I use it without Elementor?

The demo pages have a Gutenberg block version, but the theme lists free Elementor among its requirements.

Do the demo photos come with it?

No. Design and colors are imported, and the images stay as placeholders.
