About GeoDirectory Pay Per Lead
Charge when the customer arrives, not for appearing in the list
Anyone paying for a directory listing asks the same question at renewal: has it brought me any customers? If the answer is doubtful, they cancel, and your recurring income disappears. GeoDirectory Pay Per Lead changes the moment of payment: the visitor writes to the business without obstacles, and the listing owner pays only to see the contact details of the person who wrote.
This has an uncomfortable side worth knowing before you set it up: the owner decides whether to pay while seeing only the message. If the inquiries that arrive are vague, they will feel they are paying for nothing and will stop unlocking. Your income depends on the directory attracting requests with real intent.
How an inquiry travels in GeoDirectory Pay Per Lead
The journey has four steps:
- The visitor sends their inquiry from the plugin's own contact form (GD > PPL Contact Form).
- The listing owner sees the message, but not the sender's contact details.
- To access them, they pay a one-time fee for that inquiry.
- Once they pay, the lead is unlocked and the business can get in touch.
Payments and notifications are integrated into that flow, so the owner does not have to write to you to ask for access. From the admin area you can approve, reject and manage leads.
Fixed fee or commission: you decide what a lead is worth
The price per lead can be a fixed amount or a commission. A fixed fee is easier to explain to advertisers; a commission makes sense when the value of each inquiry varies a lot from one business to another.
It fits directories where a single inquiry is already a sales opportunity: local services (plumbers, electricians, contractors), real estate with inquiries from prospective tenants or buyers, and event and wedding vendors. In a directory of low-value inquiries, asking money to unlock them will scare advertisers away. Check in the demo which fields the form collects, because that determines whether the owner can judge the message before paying.
It works with Gutenberg, Elementor and Bricks, so you can place the form in the layout you already use.
It only works on top of GeoDirectory and does not bring the visits
It is an add-on: it needs the GeoDirectory base plugin installed. This is what it already solves and what you will have to cover yourself:
- Already solved: charging for the unlock, notifications and lead control from the admin area.
- Already solved: fixed or commission-based fees.
- Your job: getting traffic and visitors who write to the businesses.
- Your job: attracting and keeping businesses in the directory, because without active listings there is nobody to pay.
- Your job: explaining clearly to owners how the model works, to avoid complaints about paying without seeing the details.
- Your job: the legal and privacy texts on handling contact data, with professional help if you need it.
