About Gravity Forms Postmark

The form alert that never reached anyone

A form can work perfectly on screen and fail at the only thing that matters: the email. The visitor sees their thank-you message, you receive nothing, and the enquiry gets lost without anyone noticing. Emails sent by WordPress from the hosting often end up in spam or get blocked.

This hurts most when the form is the front door for new clients. People asking for a quote often write to several businesses and go with the first one that replies: a lost alert is a sale handed to the competition, and the worst part is that you will never know it existed. Gravity Forms Postmark routes your form notifications through Postmark, a service built for transactional email, and lets you see what happened to each one.

Gravity Forms Postmark in a real case: the quote request

Imagine a renovation firm with a form for requesting quotes. This is how the process looks:

  • Connect the account: you install the add-on and enter your Postmark credentials. You need to already have a Postmark account, and Gravity Forms too: the add-on doesn't work on its own or create the account for you.
  • Use what you already have: you link new or existing forms without rebuilding them.
  • Send both alerts: the internal alert for the team and the confirmation to the client go out through the Postmark API, instead of through WordPress's usual sending.
  • Check what happened: Postmark reports which emails were delivered and which were opened. If a client says they wrote and nobody answered, you can check whether the alert reached its destination.

Notice what changes and what doesn't: the route of the email improves, not its content. Tracking is provided by Postmark, which is where you will check the data.

Common questions before switching how emails are sent

Does it work for all my forms?

Yes. Once connected, you can send the notifications of any form through Postmark, both the alerts for the administrator and the confirmations for the user.

Do I have to rebuild the forms I already have?

No. Existing forms are connected as they are.

Can I tell whether the email was opened?

Yes, the add-on supports tracking: you see when notifications are opened and how they perform, as well as which emails were delivered.

Is it suitable for emails that can't fail?

Postmark is designed for fast, dependable transactional email, and is intended for critical alerts such as applications, payments or help requests. That said, delivery depends on the Postmark service and your account with them.

Gravity Forms Postmark only covers form notifications

This add-on is not an SMTP solution for the whole site. User registrations, password resets and WooCommerce receipts don't go through it. If you want all WordPress email to go out through Postmark, with logs and delivery status in your dashboard, the same developer offers Gravity SMTP, a separate plugin worth evaluating on its own.

It fits well if you already work with Gravity Forms and the form is a contact or sales channel you can't afford to lose. If your forms are merely decorative or you don't use Gravity Forms, there is no point in installing it.
