The slider that updates itself
Almost all sliders are static: somebody builds five slides and there they stay. Six months later they are still advertising the spring promotion, because nobody remembers to go in and change them.
HT Slider Pro also does the other thing, which is what sets it apart: sliders pulling content from your own site. The latest blog posts, the products in a category, whatever you just published. Built once and maintaining itself thereafter.
What types it builds
- Post sliders, filtering by category or by ID, so the carousel always shows the latest.
- WooCommerce product sliders, where it pays off most: new arrivals, offers or a specific category.
- Video and image sliders, for what genuinely is fixed content.
- Free content sliders, building each slide with Elementor as though it were a page.
With more than eighty starting templates, three layouts (fullscreen, full width and boxed), controls for arrows, dots, autoplay and a progress bar, and separate settings for mobile and tablet.
Where to put it and where not
The dynamic carousel works well in the middle of the page: related products, new arrivals below the fold, the latest articles at the end of a post. There the visitor has already decided to look and appreciates being shown more.
It works less well as a rotating image at the top of the homepage, which is what almost every slider gets bought for. The visitor takes in the first slide, almost nobody sees the rest, and a large moving image right at the top is among the things that most penalise speed on a phone. If you want it anyway, two or three slides at most and make the first one stand on its own.
First things first
It needs Elementor: it is an addon for it, not a standalone plugin. There is a free version in the WordPress repository, so you can try the mechanics before deciding whether the paid one is worth it.
