About JetTricks for Elementor
What keeps the reader is not what moves, but what waits until they ask for it
A product page grows on its own: specifications, terms, small print. When everything is in sight, the visitor scrolls to the bottom without reading anything, and what mattered ends up buried in the middle.
The temptation is to add motion. But the effect that pays off most on a long page is usually the opposite: hide what is secondary and let the reader decide when to open it. JetTricks, by Crocoblock, includes both, and it is worth knowing which of the two you are really buying.
Fold, unfold and point: the three JetTricks widgets
- Unfold: shows part of the content and folds the rest behind a button. The closed height is set in pixels, percent or vh, or by word count, with a solid or gradient cut. It can hold text, images, video, custom field data or a template.
- Read More: hides whole page sections, identified by their CSS ID, and reveals them one by one in the order you set, or all at once.
- Hotspots: points on an image, placed by percentage, each with its own text, tooltip and link. The points can come from a JetEngine query.
Six extensions that add to the widgets you already have
The rest are options that appear in the widgets you already use:
- Tooltip on any widget, with text or an Elementor template inside, and the option to show it only on certain devices.
- Sticky Column: keeps a column fixed while scrolling, with top and bottom spacing. In Elementor it can be applied to a single widget; in the block editor, to the whole column.
- Scroll Reveal: nine animated entrances (fades, zoom, flips and mask) that play once or every time the element comes back on screen.
- Parallax with its own speed for each widget.
- Satellite: attaches a text, an icon or an image to a widget and moves it on hover or scroll.
- Particles: animated particles in the background of an Elementor section.
Unfold or Read More: the difference that decides which to use
Both hide content, but they are not for the same job. Unfold opens and closes again, and it can fold itself after a period of inactivity. It fits a long description or a spec sheet the reader checks and leaves.
Read More, on the other hand, does not close again: an opened section stays open. It fits a page that reveals itself chapter by chapter, for example a case study read from start to finish.
Particles, satellites and the cost of motion
It is not a page builder. It needs Elementor or the block editor and only adds effects on top of what you build with them.
Particles are not designed inside the plugin. The pattern is made in the external particles.js generator, downloaded as JSON and pasted into the section, which also needs a minimum height to be visible.
Satellite is decorative: it does not change how the widget it is attached to works.
And motion has a cost. Many animations on the same page can affect performance, especially on low powered devices. All of them can be switched off per device.
Enabling only the effects you will use
It works with Elementor and with the WordPress block editor. Each widget and each extension is enabled separately from its panel.
- Enable only what you will use; whatever is off does not appear in the editor.
- Start with the length problem: decide which blocks of the page fold with Unfold.
- Leave entrance animations for last and check the page on a phone before publishing.
Tabs, popups and sliders from the same maker
To split content into tabs or accordions, JetTabs brings tabs, accordions and toggles for Elementor. For notices that appear on exit intent, on scroll or after a period of inactivity, the in house popup plugin is JetPopup. For sliders or countdowns, JetElements.
Block editor, Read More and performance
Does it work with the block editor?
Yes. Tooltip, Sticky Column, Scroll Reveal, Parallax and Satellite have their settings in the block editor too.
Can I close a section after opening it with Read More?
No. For content that opens and closes there is Unfold.
Do the animations slow the page down?
Many at once can on low powered devices. It is best to use them sparingly and switch them off on mobile if needed.
