About LabtechCO | Laboratory & Science Research WordPress Theme
What you research and what you sell do not fit on the same page
A company needs a quality control test for next month. It enters your site, opens a promising title and finds the summary of an ongoing research line, with no timelines or way to hire anything. It cannot tell whether that is offered or only studied, and it keeps searching.
The confusion starts inside the lab, where knowledge and service come from the same people and the same equipment. To someone looking from outside they are two very different things: one shows what you are capable of and the other is what they can commission today. LabtechCO, by ThemeStek, separates them in its structure, with a research section and a services section, each with its own pages.
Research, services and team with their own place
- Research: several listing and single page styles.
- Services: a listing and a page for each one, with a sidebar of your choice.
- Team: members as their own content, also with an optional sidebar.
- Portfolio, testimonials and client logos, each with its element to place wherever needed.
- 16 demos, available for Elementor and for WPBakery.
- Names to fit you: titles and URLs for portfolio, services and team are changed from the theme options.
That last point is useful in this sector: the team can be called researchers and the services, assays, without touching code.
Two builders, a slider per page and RTL writing
You can work with Elementor or WPBakery, and both have their own elements for blog, portfolio, services, team, testimonials and logos. Each element is shown in rows, columns or a carousel. The demos exist in both, so it pays to pick one at the start.
Each page can carry a Revolution Slider or a custom shortcode in its header. General options live in the WordPress Customizer, with settings for typography, header, menu, title bar and footer, which allows two rows of four columns. There is a full-width or boxed view, sticky header and footer, a child theme and right-to-left writing in all demos.
No appointments, no publications and images to replace
Appointments. The demo brings no appointment page or booking form. If you receive samples or patients by the hour, that flow goes in a separate plugin.
Publications. Its features do not include a repository of papers with authors, journals or identifiers. Research entries are pages you write.
Images. The demo photos are paid and do not come with the theme; some free related ones are provided, so set aside time to photograph your facilities.
Block editor. It is not optimized for Gutenberg. Plan on using one of the two builders.
The wizard, and then separating research and services
You need WordPress already installed on your server. The theme is uploaded from the dashboard or by FTP, and then:
- Follow the wizard that appears on activation: it installs the plugins and imports pages, posts and widgets.
- Decide which builder you will work with and use only that version of the demos.
- Make two lists before writing: what can be hired today and what you are researching.
- Rename team and services from the theme options, with the terms of your field.
- Install the child theme if you will touch templates or CSS.
Three science themes with another focus
Marity offers five home pages for research centers. NovaLab, by BoldThemes, has four home pages and a cost calculator, something to keep in mind if you quote service prices. Albertino, by AncoraThemes, brings three home pages on science and research and works with Elementor.
What usually decides a LabtechCO purchase
Elementor or WPBakery?
Both are covered. If your team already uses one, stay with it; if you will translate with WPML, keep in mind that the Elementor elements are the ones configured for its automatic translation.
Does it work for a medical lab?
The theme also targets medical sites, and the demos include pathology services. Appointment booking is not among its features.
Can I call the team researchers?
Yes. The title and URL of team, services and portfolio are changed in the theme options.
Can I sell from the site?
WooCommerce is optional and, when active, adds a shop icon to the header.
