About LatePoint – Appointment Booking & Reservation

An empty hour in the diary cannot be saved for tomorrow

A hair salon, a practice or a driving school do not sell objects, they sell time. And time has an awkward property: it expires. A product that does not sell today is still on the shelf tomorrow. The eleven o'clock slot that nobody took, or that someone booked and did not turn up for, is lost entirely.

That is why the problem of an appointment business is almost never getting bookings. It is turning bookings into hours worked. The call to confirm, the client who forgets, the one who wanted to change day and, since they could not do it on their own, simply did not come.

A booking system is judged by that: by how many booked hours end up as paid hours. LatePoint brings pieces designed for that part, although not all of them in the same place.

What the base plugin includes

  • Step by step booking form, with unlimited appointments, inserted with a shortcode, a Gutenberg block or an Elementor widget.
  • Deposits at booking, available on every plan, including the free one, with Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay or manual payment.
  • Cancellation by the client from their own area, without writing to you.
  • Analytics dashboard, activity log and data import and export.
  • Email notifications and a single location.

What the Pro part adds

The Pro version adds multiple staff, multiple locations, recurring appointments and group bookings; letting clients reschedule; SMS and WhatsApp notifications and reminders; custom fields; Google Calendar sync and video calls with Zoom, Google Meet or Teams.

Since version 5, many of those features come in a single add-on, PRO Features, while calendars, several payment gateways, Twilio SMS, WhatsApp and WooCommerce are separate add-ons. It is worth knowing before setting up: the base plugin on its own does not include reminders, which are precisely the piece that prevents the most no shows.

How to actually fill the diary

Ask for a deposit. Someone who has paid something in advance remembers the appointment. It is the cheapest measure against no shows and it already comes in the base plugin.

Let clients change day on their own. Someone who cannot move to another time without calling often ends up not coming. An hour changed in time can be filled again; a no show cannot.

Send a reminder the day before. By email, SMS or WhatsApp, depending on where your client reads.

A diary, not a practice management program

It handles bookings, payments, notifications and the client area. For records, treatment files or stock you need another tool.

And the base works with a single staff member and a single location. A centre with several people seeing clients needs the Pro part from day one, not as a future upgrade.

What LatePoint needs and the first test booking

WordPress 6.5 or higher and PHP 7.4 or higher. The client area page has to be excluded from caching.

  1. Install the plugin and follow the wizard: notifications, services and working hours.
  2. Set up payments in LatePoint, Settings, with the deposit enabled.
  3. Adjust notifications in LatePoint, Automation.
  4. Put the form on a page with the shortcode or the block and make a test booking from start to finish.

Alternatives in the catalogue

To complete LatePoint, the PRO Features add-on gathers the professional features, and Outlook Calendar for LatePoint syncs the diary with Outlook.

If you would rather compare another appointment system for WordPress, there are Amelia, Bookly Pro and BookingPress Pro.

Questions about deposits, reminders and teams

Can I take a deposit at booking?

Yes. Deposits are available on every plan, including the free one.

Does it send reminders before the appointment?

Reminders belong to the Pro part. The base plugin sends email notifications.

Does it work for a team of several people?

Yes, with the Pro part, which adds multiple staff and multiple locations.

Does it sync with Google Calendar?

Yes, with the Pro part. Outlook and Apple Calendar come through add-ons.

Does it work with Elementor?

Yes, and with Gutenberg, through blocks and widgets.

Can the client cancel on their own?

Yes, from their area. Rescheduling without writing to you belongs to the Pro part.
