About LearnDash LMS ProPanel Addon
Your report also counts your test account
You go through your own course to fix a lesson. Your assistant takes the quiz to see if it works. A learner leaves the lesson open in a tab all afternoon. And at the end of the month you open the numbers to decide which course to rebuild.
Before asking what your data says, you have to ask what is inside it. An average time inflated by forgotten tabs or a completion rate mixed with your internal accounts leads to wrong decisions with every appearance of rigour.
ProPanel is the reporting add-on for LearnDash. It adds revenue, activity, quiz and assignment data on a customizable front-end dashboard, and it brings the settings to decide what goes into those figures.
How to clean what goes into the figures
- Exclusions: removes courses, user roles or specific users from all reports and graphs.
- Real study time: discards the time a learner is on another tab or idle, not moving the cursor or typing.
- Revenue with discounts: reflects coupons and trial pricing, in both LearnDash checkout and WooCommerce.
The dashboard blocks, who sees them and what exports
- Counters: total revenue, courses, learners and pending assignments.
- Courses: revenue from courses, daily enrollments, time spent, completion rate, progress rate and a detailed list.
- Quizzes: completion rate and time, pass and fail rate, average attempts and attempt reports.
- Learners: inactive users, activity log, student table and profile.
The initial dashboard comes built, and you can create your own pages with these blocks in the editor. Keep the date selector close: a custom page without that block stays fixed on the past 30 days.
A role access setting decides whether group leaders get in and, with the Instructor Role add-on, instructors. Group leaders filter by their groups instead of by course categories.
Learners have their part too: they review their attempts, filter them by course, quiz and date, and see answers, correct answers, points and the class average.
Available exports:
- Quiz attempts and the course list, in CSV or Excel.
- Completion rate, in CSV.
- Daily enrollments, with the graph as SVG or PNG and the data as CSV.
What LearnDash already brings and what you will not find here
LearnDash already includes reports. The core brings five widgets under Reports, with overview, activity, filters and progress, plus blocks to display them. If that is enough to decide, you need nothing more.
It points, but it does not act. The inactive users block shows who stopped logging in. Its features do not include automatic emails to those learners.
The first load can take a while. With a lot of data, the first report takes longer. After that it comes from the cache, and the reload icon fetches current data.
Server and setup
It requires LearnDash 5.1.0 or higher. The minimum grows with users: with 1,500 users, 1 core, 1 GB of RAM and a 256 MB memory limit; with 7,000, 2 cores, 4 GB of RAM and a 1 GB limit.
- Install and activate the add-on, which creates the ProPanel Dashboard and Student Quiz Results pages, and check that they are published.
- Define which roles can open the dashboard.
- Exclude your internal accounts and test courses.
- Configure the idle time.
- Run the course users and group users data upgrades, which speed up reports.
What usually goes with it in a LearnDash academy
LearnDash LMS is the base without which this add-on does nothing. LearnDash Notifications sends emails based on what learners do and what they stop doing, which is exactly what ProPanel leaves open with inactive users.
If you sell to companies, Groups Plus for LearnDash gives the team leader a dashboard of their own with reports per member and course.
Questions before trusting these figures
Does it work without LearnDash?
No. It is a reporting add-on for LearnDash and it needs version 5.1.0 or higher.
Can I take my test accounts out of the reports?
Yes. You can exclude specific users, roles and courses from all reports.
Does it count time from a forgotten tab?
No. It discards time on another tab and idle time.
Can group leaders see it?
Yes, if the role access setting allows it.
