About LearnPress Announcements Addon

For anyone with students already enrolled in LearnPress, and for anyone who doesn't have them yet

You change an exam date, upload a new lesson or launch an offer, and you announce it wherever you can: a loose email, a social media post, a line on the home page. The students of that specific course find out late, or never. LearnPress Announcements Addon solves exactly that, but only inside LearnPress.

It suits you if you are an instructor, a training center or a course creator who needs to talk to the enrolled students of one course without bothering those of another. It is not for you if:

  • You don't use LearnPress: it is an add-on and does not work on its own.
  • You want a general newsletter for visitors or former customers: announcements are aimed at students enrolled in specific courses.
  • You want to segment by behavior (who hasn't logged in for a month, who is halfway through): the criterion is the course, not progress.

The underlying problem: students don't read what they can't see while studying

In online training, the important notice often arrives when the student isn't thinking about the course. That is why the message should live where they study. With LearnPress Announcements Addon, announcements are displayed inside the course page without pulling the student out of their study flow.

Announcements aimed only at the enrolled students of each course

When you create an announcement you choose which courses it goes to. That way a photography student doesn't get accounting news, and every message arrives with relevance. It is the most useful feature if you manage a catalog with several courses and different audiences.

Optional email for when the notice can't wait

Each announcement can also be sent by email to the students of the course. It is optional: for a minor update it is enough for it to appear in the course; for a schedule change or an exam date, email prevents someone from finding out late.

  • Use it wisely: if you send an email for every small update, your students will stop opening them.
  • Try a real send before opening it to a course with many people, to check that the emails arrive and don't land in spam. That also depends on how email sending is set up on your hosting.

A single panel to keep your announcements in order

From the WordPress admin you can view, edit, delete and filter all announcements. It is handy when you have been publishing for months and need to remove an expired offer or fix a date. In the course, the list loads in batches, with a configurable number per page through a hook for those who can work with code.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work without LearnPress?

No. It is a LearnPress add-on and needs LearnPress installed.

Can I send an announcement only to the students of one course?

Yes, that is its main use: you choose the courses it is aimed at.

Is sending email mandatory?

No. You can leave the announcement visible only in the course or add email delivery.

Is it useful for notifying people who haven't enrolled yet?

No: the recipients are students already enrolled in the chosen courses.
