About LearnPress Gradebook Add-on

For anyone teaching courses with graded tests, not for those who only publish videos

As a course grows, knowing how each student is doing turns into opening profiles one by one, checking separate quizzes and jotting grades in a spreadsheet that is always out of date. LearnPress Gradebook Add-on brings that data together in a single panel.

It suits you if your courses have quizzes, graded lessons or assignments, and if you or your instructors need to see who is moving forward, who is failing and who has stopped halfway. If your courses are only content to browse, with no tests, there will be almost nothing to grade.

  • It is a LearnPress add-on: it does not work without that plugin.
  • Assignment grades only appear if the Assignment add-on is active.
  • It is a tool for viewing and exporting, not a system for issuing certificates or custom-designed report cards.

An Excel-style table to see the whole course at a glance

When you open a course you see the list of students with their total score, progress and completion status, in a table format similar to a spreadsheet. There are no complicated charts to interpret: you look at rows and columns, as you are already used to doing.

You can filter by name, email or learning status, which saves time when there are many enrolled students and you are looking for one person or for those who have not finished yet.

Grade by grade, not just the total

A total of 62% does not tell you whether the problem is a specific exam or a lesson the student did not complete. The plugin records the scores of each component (quizzes, graded lessons and, with the matching add-on, assignments) and lets you see them per item or as a course summary.

The average is calculated from the course structure and shown as a percentage. That way you do not have to do the math or wonder whether the average is weighted correctly.

Spot who needs help before they drop out

Low grades and unfinished lessons are the clearest sign that someone is getting lost. With the student view you can sort and find those people so you can write to them, reinforce a topic or redo an assessment that is too hard.

There is also an option to allow or not allow instructors to view gradebook data, useful if you do not want the whole team to have access to grades.

Export to CSV or Excel to archive or share

You can pull the data out as CSV or Excel, filtering first by student, course or completion status. It is handy for keeping an internal record or sending grades to a student.

Check in the demo how the exported file looks with your own courses, because its usefulness depends on how well your quizzes are structured.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work without LearnPress?

No. It is an extension of the LearnPress plugin and needs it installed and active.

Does it show assignment grades?

Yes, but only if you use the Assignment add-on alongside it.

Can I export the grades?

Yes, as CSV or Excel, with filters by student, course or completion status.

Can I filter students?

Yes, by name, email or learning status.

Is it useful for courses without quizzes?

It will add little, because what it shows are scores and progress. With courses that have no tests there will be almost no grades to review.
