About Molongui Authorship Pro
WordPress believes articles are written by one person
And that this person has a user account on the site. Two assumptions that break the moment a blog grows: the feature is written by two journalists, the technical piece is reviewed by a specialist, the guest contribution comes from someone outside who is never going to have admin access.
Molongui Authorship fixes both: several authors per post, and guest authors without creating accounts for them.
What it solves
- Several authors per post, reorderable by dragging, built into the byline as though it were native WordPress.
- Guest authors, with their profile and their own page, no account and therefore no access to the site.
- Author box at the foot of the article, customisable, with biography, social links and their other posts.
- Author pages for everyone, registered or guest, with their list of publications.
- Contributors listing, as a grid or list, with structured data for search engines.
Why this matters for search
Google has for years given weight to who signs a piece of content, especially on subjects where wrong information causes harm: health, money, law. An article with no visible author, or signed by "Admin", loses to one signed by somebody with a name, a biography and a verifiable track record.
Worth being precise here, because it gets misread often: structured data does not create authority, it declares it. Marking as author a person with no credentials in the subject improves nothing. What works is the author being real, their biography saying why they know what they write about, and that author page having genuine content.
An empty author page, with a generic avatar and two lines, is worse than none: it tells the reader there is nobody behind this.
Who it is for
Publications and magazines with a newsroom, blogs with guest bylines, health or finance sites where authorship carries weight, agencies publishing with several writers, and projects with content reviewed by specialists.
Frequently asked questions
Can I put two authors on one post?
Yes, as many as needed, and they are reordered by dragging in the byline.
Does a guest author need an account?
No. Their profile is created without a user, so they have no access to the site.
Do guests get their own page?
Yes, with their biography and the list of posts they have signed.
Does it help with search rankings?
It makes declaring authorship with structured data straightforward. What holds it up is the author being real and their profile having substance.
