About MonsterInsights Page Insights Addon
You publish, move on to the next post, and nobody looks at the last one again
On a content site, the person who writes is rarely the person who opens Google Analytics. The stats live in another tab, behind another login, with URL filters that almost nobody remembers to set up. The result is pages that have been underperforming for months and that nobody touches, simply because nobody knows.
MonsterInsights Page Insights is a MonsterInsights addon that brings the numbers for each post and page into the WordPress editor itself, using GA4 data. You see them right when you are about to edit, which is when you can actually do something about them.
Five metrics in the sidebar of every post and page
When you open a piece of content to edit it, a sidebar widget shows these figures:
- Entrances: how many times someone landed on that page as the first visit of their session.
- Page views
- Time on page
- Exits
- Total users
You can switch with one click between yesterday's data and the last 30 days. That double view helps you tell a one-day dip from a real trend. And the numbers are the same ones you would see in your GA4 account, just without leaving WordPress.
The reading is simple: many exits together with little time on page usually mean the visitor did not find what they expected. Many entrances with good time on page point to content worth replicating.
A column in the list to spot the weak content without opening anything
The addon adds a Page Insights column to the WordPress posts and pages list. You scroll through the screen you already use to manage your site and compare at a glance how each piece of content performs.
Page Insights is a starting point, not a full analysis. When a number catches your eye, MonsterInsights' own reports, such as Top Pages, Landing Pages or the Search Console integration, let you dig into that page's traffic, revenue or keywords.
Is Page Insights enough, or do you need more than loose numbers?
It is enough if you want the editorial team to see how each page performs without learning Google Analytics. It is not enough if you need custom periods: it only shows yesterday and the last 30 days, and only those five metrics. It also does not work on its own: it is a MonsterInsights addon, so MonsterInsights must already be connecting your site to GA4, and it requires a Plus plan or higher.
Do I need to log into Google Analytics to see the data?
No. The GA4 data appears in the editor sidebar, with no tab switching and no login to another account.
Do I need to configure anything?
No. You install and activate it from the MonsterInsights addons screen in WordPress, with one click and no extra setup or code.
Which pages should I improve first?
Start with the ones that combine many exits with little time on page. With the list column you can compare them all and find the best and worst performers.
Does it replace the MonsterInsights reports?
No: it gives a first clue per page. To understand the why, you need the plugin's full reports.
