About Movie Me – One Page Responsive WordPress Theme
Your film premieres once, and its website stays online
A film website is usually born in a hurry and with a single job: gathering the trailer, synopsis, cast and date in one place you can send the press and the public to. The premiere comes, weeks go by, and that page is still online talking about a finished project. The next piece of work ends up somewhere else, on another domain, and what you built is left behind.
A film lasts one campaign, but whoever made it needs a website that keeps working for the next project. This is worth thinking about before choosing a theme, because it changes how you organize content from day one.
Movie Me, by webRedox, is a WordPress theme for presenting films, projects and videos. It has a one-page version and a multi-page version, so you can launch the campaign on one long screen and expand the site later with a blog, recent work and actor pages.
One page for the campaign, several for what comes next
- Versions: One-Page and Multi-Page.
- Layouts: Business and Creative variants.
- Appearance: light skin and dark skin, with color selectors in the panel.
- Demo data: a one-click importer, plus XML data.
- Child theme: included for your own changes.
Elements for telling a film's story
- Video intro: it also works on mobile, and its options sit in each page's settings.
- Content elements: About, Video, Review, Gallery and Recent Movies.
- Player: the YouTube and Vimeo element also supports MP4.
- Galleries: a video gallery and an image gallery with an Isotope filter and a load-more button.
- Actors: individual pages for the cast.
- Audience: email subscription and social links in the footer, TikTok included.
- Blog: Standard, Gallery, Link, Quote, Video and Audio post formats.
You manage it with WPBakery Page Builder, slides with Revolution Slider and general options with Redux Framework. There is also a shortcode generator, custom widgets, SEO settings and Contact Form 7 styling.
For presenting films, with no box office or streaming catalog
Movie Me is for showing a piece of work. Its features do not include ticket sales, showtimes or playing a subscription catalog, so a cinema or a video platform should look at another option.
It is built on WPBakery Page Builder and Bootstrap. If your team works with Elementor or the block editor, keep that in mind before starting.
The theme also comes with its own plugin, MovieMe.
Setting up the one-page version step by step
You need WordPress and the plugins the theme works with: WPBakery Page Builder, Revolution Slider, Redux Framework and Contact Form 7, plus MovieMe. You do not need much HTML, because the theme includes extensive documentation with a section for this setup.
- Install the theme and activate its plugins.
- Import the demo data with one click to start from a complete structure.
- Choose the light or dark skin and adjust colors in the panel.
- Set up the intro, logo and footer background in the page settings.
- Replace the sample video, images and text, and test the home page on mobile.
Film themes for other needs
If you run a festival or schedule screenings, Mirel brings 10 home pages, a screening calendar and WooCommerce support. For a production company with many works and people, Frames adds Videos and People content types and is built with Elementor.
If what you want to publish is a catalog of movies, series and videos, Vodi works with the MAS Videos plugin. And if you need the builder on its own, WPBakery Page Builder is in the catalog too.
Questions before launching your film's website
Can I start with one page and expand later?
The theme includes both versions, One-Page and Multi-Page. Test the change with the demo data before publishing, to see how you would reorganize your content.
Can I upload my trailer as MP4?
Yes, the player element supports MP4 as well as YouTube and Vimeo.
Can it be translated?
It includes a .pot file and string translation with WPML.
Can I sell tickets?
Its features do not include ticket sales. Mirel, for example, brings a screening calendar with purchase links.
