About myCred Social Share
Sharing costs one click, but hardly anyone does it unprompted
Your readers read, like and close the tab. Sharing a post costs nothing, but without a reason hardly anyone does it. myCred Social Share gives them that reason: every time a user shares one of your site's posts on social media, they earn points.
Keep the underlying logic in mind: people who share for points do it for the reward, not because the content thrilled them. If nobody sees value in the points, the reward moves no one.
A different reward for each social network
You can set the amount of points by platform. That lets you pay more for sharing on the network where your audience matters most and less on the others, instead of giving everyone the same and spending points where they bring nothing back.
Points criteria with myCred Social Share, by platform and by action
The criteria for awarding points are managed from your own site and you can adjust them along two axes:
- By platform: each social network can have its own reward.
- By user action: the amount of points is defined according to what the user does.
- By type of installation: it works on a single site as well as on a multisite installation.
It is best to start with low figures and raise them only if you see that sharing really increases. Giving away too many points at the start devalues the rest of your program.
Is myCred Social Share useful if you don't have a points system yet?
It is an add-on to the myCred ecosystem, not a standalone tool: its job is to hand out points. If all you want is to add share buttons without any reward, this product is not what you are looking for.
Does it work on multisite?
Yes. It can be used on a single site or on a multisite installation.
Can I give more points for one network than another?
Yes, the reward is set according to the social media platform.
Can I vary the points depending on what the user does?
Yes, you can also configure them according to the type of user action.
Does it guarantee that the post is really shared?
That is a fair doubt in any rewards system. Check in the demo how each use is recorded before offering valuable prizes.
