About MyDecor – Elementor WooCommerce WordPress Theme
Four hundred cushions in a grid are four hundred rectangles
It is the underlying problem of a homeware shop and no theme feature solves it, although a theme can make it easier or harder for you.
A cushion, a candle, a vase and a throw photographed on white look so alike that the grid stops informing. The visitor's eye passes over forty thumbnails, distinguishes nothing, and leaves. It is not that they disliked the product: it is that they never saw it.
What sells in this sector is the scene. The whole living room with that throw over the sofa, the table laid, the complete shelf. People do not buy a vase: they buy the corner the vase sits in. MyDecor is a WooCommerce theme on Elementor with many ready-made layouts, and those layouts are the tool for building those scenes.
What it contributes
- Many prebuilt homepage layouts, for assembling the site without starting from a blank page.
- Several product page layouts.
- An Elementor base, so you change the pages yourself by dragging.
- Works for many kinds of retail: furniture, food, fashion, electronics, footwear, groceries and catalogues generally.
Being edited with Elementor is what matters in this particular shop
And not for the usual reason. In a homeware shop, the homepage is not something you build once: it is a window display that has to change every season, exactly as in a shop on the street.
October calls for the autumn scene with throws and candles. December, the table laid. Spring, outdoors and plants. If every change depends on somebody touching the theme for you, you do not do it, and your homepage ends up showing summer cushions in November.
Being able to rebuild the homepage yourself in an afternoon is, in this sector, more valuable than any feature on the list. It is the difference between a live shop and a static catalogue.
How to build the scene so it sells
Show the room shot first and the white background one after. The first creates the desire, the second settles the question of exactly what it is.
Link the products appearing in the scene. If the living room photograph has four of your things in it, all four should be reachable from there. It is manual work and it is what turns inspiration into an order.
Put the dimensions where they can be seen. In homeware the most common return is "I thought it was bigger". A scale reference in the photograph saves returns.
Group by style or by room, as well as by product type. Plenty of people are not looking for a vase: they are looking for ideas for the hallway.
Requirements
It needs WordPress, WooCommerce and Elementor. The demo images carry their own licence and have to be replaced.
Alternatives in the catalogue
If your catalogue is mainly large furniture, the problem moves and becomes logistical: Drile is built around that case, with several product page layouts designed for finishes, dimensions and lead times.
If what you sell is handmade or made to order, Carica leans more that way and brings a catalogue mode for showing without selling.
If as well as selling you design interiors, Interico joins the project portfolio with the furniture side, which is the model of the designer who sells what they specify.
And two pieces that pay off well in homeware: UpsellWP for selling the complete set rather than the single piece, and Royal Elementor Addons if you are going to rebuild the homepage every season and want more elements than the standard builder gives.
Frequently asked questions
Does it need Elementor?
Yes, and in this shop that is an advantage: the homepage has to change every season.
Is it suitable for other retail?
Yes, it is designed as a general shop theme, with demos from several sectors.
How many layouts does it bring?
Many homepage ones and several product page ones, which is what allows building different scenes.
How do I stop everything looking the same in the grid?
With room shots ahead of white backgrounds, and by grouping by room or style.
Can I use the demo images?
No. They carry their own licence and have to be replaced.
What if I sell large furniture?
Then the problem is volumetric shipping, and a theme built around that case is the answer.
