About OceanWP Full Screen
A long page whose sections follow one another as you scroll often ends up one of two ways: blocks cut off halfway down the screen, or scrolling so abrupt that the visitor loses the thread. OceanWP Full Screen turns each section of a page into a full screen that slides to the next one, with no code to write.
A page to tell a single story
Full screen scrolling works well when the page has a clear path: presenting a project, a launch, a portfolio or an offer with few messages. Each screen carries one idea and the visitor moves forward one at a time. The usual mistake is using it on a page with lots of text or with content of very different lengths: a section that doesn't fit the window height feels awkward. Before building anything, decide how many screens you have and what each one says.
How scrolling is controlled in OceanWP Full Screen
The plugin offers few settings, but they get straight to the point:
- Scrolling speed: you choose how long it takes to move from one section to the next. Too fast is disorienting and too slow is exasperating, so test it with someone who doesn't know the page.
- Side navigation: adds a column of dots to jump between sections and see which one you are on.
- Navigation color: you match it to the background of your sections so it doesn't get lost over light or dark images.
- Tooltips: each navigation dot can show a label with additional information, useful for naming each section.
What happens on mobile
A screen-by-screen scroll that looks great on a large monitor can get in the way on a phone, where content is often taller than the window. That is why the plugin lets you disable the effect from the screen size you choose. Decide at which width you want that change and check how the page looks on tablet and mobile.
It only works with Elementor
This is the most important gap: for now the plugin works only with the Elementor page builder. If you build with another editor, it won't work for you. This is what is left on your side:
- Already solved: scrolling by sections, speed, side navigation with its color and tooltips, and disabling the effect by screen size.
- You cover it: the design of each section inside Elementor, so the content fits on one screen.
- You cover it: the texts, images and call to action of each screen.
- You or a professional cover it: any behavior other than section scrolling.
