The PDF that gets downloaded and never opened again
You upload a PDF to WordPress, add a link and hope for the best. On mobile the file lands in a downloads folder nobody opens again. On a computer it opens in another tab and the visitor drifts away from your site. And either way you never know whether anyone actually read it.
PDF Embedder Premium starts from a simple idea: the document should be read inside your page, like any other image. There is no limit on the number of embedded PDFs.

If you publish your own content
Poems, reports, newsletters or guides: the PDF is your product and you don't want it circulating unchecked. Showing it embedded keeps the reading on your site, and the protection options (blocking access to the file, disabling right-click, keeping search engines from indexing it) make it harder to copy with no effort.
If you teach or train
A forty-page syllabus is hard to read if it has to be downloaded. Here you get continuous scrolling through the pages, direct jump to a page number, internal links inside the PDF and instant text search to find a concept without going through the whole thing.
If you run client sites
When the document has an owner and that needs to be visible, watermarks come in: custom or dynamic text, configurable placement and settings that are global or per file. There are also dedicated attachment pages for each PDF and automatically generated thumbnails.
What PDF Embedder Premium solves inside the page
- Navigation: continuous scrolling, jump to page and internal and external links inside the document.
- Reading: text search, spacing between pages and an option to hide the PDF's annotations.
- Data: view and download counts per file, which can be switched on or off.
- Mobile: a configurable threshold for switching viewers, text for the view button and an option to disable the device's zoom.
- Editing: it is inserted as a block and also has a widget for Elementor.
The per-file count finally answers the question a download link never did: is this document of interest, or is it gathering dust?
Questions before embedding your PDFs
Will it slow down the site? It is built with performance in mind. That said, a very heavy PDF can take a while to display, depending on the browser and the visitor's device.
Can I embed as many PDFs as I want? Yes, the number of embeds is unlimited.
Does it work with Elementor? It includes its own widget for Elementor, as well as the editor block.
Can I know how many times a PDF is viewed or downloaded? Yes, the count is kept per file.
A PDF visible on screen is never fully locked down
The protections and watermarks make copying harder, but a document someone can read in their browser is never fully locked down: don't treat it as a safe. Also, not every feature comes in every level of the product. File protection, watermarks and automatic thumbnails belong to the higher levels, so check which features you have active before promising them to a client. It doesn't edit the content of PDFs either: it only displays them.
