About Portm – Personal Portfolio WordPress Theme
Portm: a portfolio that makes sense before the client loses interest
Whoever reviews your portfolio rarely does so calmly: they open three or four profiles in a row, compare them and stay with the one that explains first what you can do. The winner is almost never the person with the most projects, but the one who arranges them best. Portm is a theme for that kind of profile: freelancers, designers, photographers or anyone who needs a personal website with their work and their CV.
It is not a single template, but a collection of pre-built sites, each with its pages already set up. You can keep one as it is or create a new variant by combining its components.
Elementor, Bootstrap and a customizer to adjust things without writing code
Portm is built on the Elementor page builder, so moving sections, changing text or reordering projects is done visually. These are the pieces that will help you most:
- Demo import: you load the sample content and replace it with your own on pages that are already designed.
- Kirki customizer: with header and footer settings, and Google Fonts, to give it your own identity without touching code.
- Bootstrap 5: a responsive, mobile-first structure.
- Child theme compatibility: lets you modify templates without editing the original files.
- Contact Form 7 compatibility: for the contact form.
It also includes its own widgets, is compatible with Gutenberg, and is ready for retina screens, which shows when your main product is images.
Fewer projects, better chosen: how to make the most of Portm's demos
The typical mistake when starting from a demo is filling every slot with whatever you have. A portfolio page with thirty uneven pieces conveys less craft than one with six well-chosen ones and a sentence of context for each: what problem the client had and what you did. Use Portm's structure to force yourself to choose, not to pile things up.
If you work with photography or visual pieces, upload images that are already optimized: the theme is responsive and retina-ready, but that does not replace files of a reasonable weight. And before deciding, open the demo on your phone and check how the gallery, the menu and the contact page behave, because that is where many people will see your work.
Portm or a theme with its own editor: the decision is whether you will work with Elementor
Portm makes sense if you already use Elementor or don't mind learning it. If you prefer an editor built into the theme or working only with blocks, it may get in your way. It is compatible with Elementor Pro and WooCommerce, but it is a personal portfolio theme: don't expect a complete store out of the box. Check in the demo whether any section you like requires Elementor Pro. The contact form relies on Contact Form 7, which is a separate plugin.
Is it suitable for an online CV?
Yes, it fits personal and résumé profiles. What you include will depend on the demo pages you choose as a base.
Can I start without designing from scratch?
Yes: it includes importable demo content and pre-built sites with their pages, which you only need to adapt with your texts and images.
Does it work well on mobile?
It is responsive and ready for retina screens, but you should review your own images and texts on your phone before publishing.
Is it suitable for an agency with several members?
It is designed for a personal portfolio. If you need team profiles or many services, check in the demos first whether it is enough for you.
